Very happy with location
We were very happy with our condo at the Castle Resort. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Our location was great. We had a view of the ocean and could walk across the bridges and lawn to the beach. Towels and beach chairs were available and it was wonderful to sit at night at watch the sun go down. Great location. Our condo was very comfortable. We liked the patio outside. It was clean and the grounds were clean and well taken care of. For us, the overall location was very good. Although, we never went to the pool or ate at the restaurant on the premises, it was a short walk to the shopping center and to some very nice restaurants. The resorts beach was also good for swimming, snorkeling. We even watched surf lessons going on every day. Would recommend to others and look forward to going back again.
Finding the local fish store or stand that offers Lunch Plate specials. We got ours in the town of Koloa at the local fish market. It was delicious! We would buy a lunch plate special for $10 and take it back to our condo for dinner. We bought lettuce and salad dressing at the grocery store to complete our meals. It was great to come back to condo for a quick delicious local meal after beaching or hiking all day. Then we could go out for drinks and music.

Kiahuna - October 2009
We were close to Poipu road, so there was a fair amount of road noise. That made for a short walk to the pool however (which is across the road). Would liked to have been closer to Poipu Beach, but it was only about a 6 or 7 minute walk. Next time I would request at least a partial ocean view room even its more expensive. I enjoy that area of Kauai more than Lihue or Kapaa as it is a little quieter and more laid back than the other two areas. Princeville is nice (very expensive) but a long way from anywhere else except Hanalei. Poipu is the place to be on Kauai.

Not Impressed with rooms
Horribly uncomfortable bed. Very hot and stuffy location with almost no ocean breezes. Asked for a different room and they declined.
