Could be a 5*, but more like a 2*
The hotel is a fantastic building in stunning grounds with views over the ocean. The basic facilities are good (restaurants, pool, etc)...but that is as far as it goes. The hotel interior and rooms (although clean and comfortable) drastically need maintenance and an overhaul. The exterior is crumbling in places. The food is average at best, and the staff try very hard but in all honesty need to be trained better. Lots of conference goers when I was there. Internet was painfully slow as in most of Africa, and charged at $8 USD per hour! Wonderful potential as a hotel, but falls short in reality.

Nice Hotel in Dar Es Salaam
Very Nice Hotel in a pleasant location near Dar Es Salaam, with very friendly people working there. The breakfast and the views are great! The only thing that could improve a bit is the cleanliness of the room, but we enjoyed our stay

Not impressed, and not recommendable
The only positive comment that I can make about this hotel is its ocean view. My specific comments are as follows: 1) Its staff needs much professional training. 2) Both restaurants of the hotel need to improve the quality of food. Food is very overpriced for the price they charge. After two meals at the hotel, I took taxis to eat elsewhere. 3) The hotel gives an impression of dilapidation. Its elevator, for example, no longer works, and the guests have to use the stairs with their luggage. 4) Everything is overpriced in this hotel, including the poor internet connection.
