Nice Hotel, but not in October

We stayed at the Stowaway in October,I realize that during this time of year things are pretty slow, not a lot of places were open on the boardwalk to eat, however, the hotel had a restaurant and Deli, both of which were closed, which I was disappointed about. The room was spacious and very clean. The service was great!! The indoor pool was filthy. I’ve been wanting to stay at this hotel for years and finally got the chance and was pretty much disappointed. Maybe in the summer it’s alot better. I would probably give it another shot in the summer it the price is right.

Traveler's tip on nightlife

I’ve been to O.C. quite a few times and I finally went to the Club Secrets, it’s set up like you’re in the Caribbean, lots of fun and great drinks! Well worth checking out, try to go during happy hour and get the most for your bucks. Also, take advantage of the City bus you can ride all day for $2.

The Not So Grand Hotel

We had stayed at the Grand Hotel for the past two years and were looking forward to another enjoyable stay. After arriving my wife and I both hopped on our laptops (working vacation) only to find the advertised "free wireless internet" was not working. I visited the manager at the front desk to see what the problem was only to find out that the "free wireless internet" was no longer offered in the rooms, only the hotel lobby. If we wanted to access the internet from our room we would have to pay a fee (and it wasn’t cheap) to access via dial-up.....seriously, dial-up? Then we noticed our balcony was the only one without lounge chairs. Housekeeping was kind enough to bring us chairs (upright plastic resin chairs more suited for sitting around a table than lounging) which we later had replaced with the lounge chairs that the other balconies had. And last but not least they had us checking out the day before we actually left so we came back to our room to find ourselves locked out. Nice. Overall not a horrible stay but certainly not as pleasant as it could have been. The odds a very good that we will not be staying at the Grand Hotel again.

Traveler's tip for business travelers

The advertise free wireless internet in the rooms but the service has been discontinued. You can only access wireless internet in the lobby. In the room they charge a fee to connect via dial-up. Yes, that’s right...dial-up.

Great Location

It was a nice hotel. The bedding was average as well as the beds. The rooms barely had any lighting and the red carpet in the rooms are old and need to be replaced. Still with that being said enjoyed my stay rooms are very large and they have many things to do in and around the hotel.
