London Victoria for New Years

Overall an exceptional hotel for the price paid through expedia...great location, great service, spacious, clean, friendly helpful staff.

Better than expected

I’d had it with "quaint" and "charming" London hotels. This time I wanted convenience, comfort and value. The room was lovely and the staff was very helpful. The Park Plaza is clean, modern, quiet and close to the Underground, also an easy walk to St. James’s Park or Westminster. Next trip to London I plan on staying there again!

Could not be happier

We had a wondeful time in London and a big part of that was our hotel. Big room, great bathroom. and the best service imaginable. Tons of ethnic restaurants that provided fine dining. Convenient location with access to Underground just up the street. Would stay there again. Kudos to the personnel who were very helpful.

Quiet and comfortable

We stayed here for our 25th anniversary. The room was very comfortable and we heard very little noise from the street or other guests. There never was a concierge at the desk, but the front desk staff is very knowledgable and helpful. The downside was that one evening we returned to our room to find someone in it claiming to be an employee checking out an internet problem that we had not called in. Unsettling to say the least, but the front desk verified him. Our key cards did not work for two days after that and they kept apologizing and reissuing cards. However, they were very professional about it and the overall service was great. They had wonderful insider tourist tips of what to do and what to avoid.

Staying at this hotel puts you within a two minute walk to the tube and buses at Victoria Station. The public transporation in London is easy and fast and staying here made it extremely simple to get around. Don’t bother with a tour bus. They are expensive and take the same route a double decker city bus would take.

Biggest in Victoria area

The service was good. There was Iron/Ironing board, hair dryer (for spouse), good football (Sky Sports! :) ). All available to enhance you preparations before entering London from Victoria public transport. Surprisingly, the majority of the staff were not English. I met Germans and French throughout, mostly Germanic, though a few were English. All staff spoke fluent English and the accents only highlighted the experience. The esthetics of the hotel seems stuck in 60s "Art Nouveau"... but heck I loved it! Britain is all about history! My raise hat to the staff at the hotel and recommend it to others as its well worth staying at the biggest hotel in Victoria before going out to see the sites; most of which are fairly close by! This is a good hotel overall, better than a 3 but not a 5, yet!!!

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Theres tube, bus and train all close at hand, try day passes and walk the city... Don’t understimate the amount of time you need anywhere in Britain, believe me there’s far more to see than you have time to spare. Plan what you want to do and stick with it. Try bus tours and the many pubs around the nation to highten your relaxation levels! Don’t stress about numbers... London is 2000 years old and thus got very big! Most people are mannerly so reciprocate wherever possible!

Great location

I really liked this hotel and location. It was within walking distance of Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, the House of Parliament, Victoria station and several theaters. We took the train in from Gatwick, but took a taxi back. (A lot more expensive, but more convenient). The hotel was great and the staff were very helpful. I would stay at this hotel again.

Find another place

The hotel had a leak in the bathroom, even we requested several times to be fixed...they never did. We spend one week in the hotel with WET feet because each time we used the bathroom the floor was wet. It was not only dangerous because it was sleepery but very inconsiderate. The food...we purchased breakfast for 25 punds per room....breakfast was the same every single day...boring!!!! ...how much ham, potatoes and eggs can one eat?? We could have had a variety of breakfasts outside for 5 pounds. So...no I don’t recommend this hote.

One of the best at price level

Excellent location, short walk to Victoria station, Buckingham, Westminster, etc. Breakfast pricey but good. Staff friendly and efficent. Good size room, bath size also good. We come to London every year and this is our new favorite

Will definitely stay there again

Conveniently located, not far from Victoria station. Clean hotel, nice rooms, especially the showers (good pressure, shower head on hose, even temperature). Breakfast is good but a bit expensive.

Perfect location, great hotel!!

The Park Plaza Victoria London is within easy walking distance of Buckingham Palace, Westminster, Victoria Station which gets you everywhere! Nice restaurants and pubs and a market (for water, snacks, dinner, saving money) are also easy walking. The upgrade to the Executive Package with breakfast and snacks/drinks in the evening was very worth it. The hotal staff were great, friendly and knowledgeable. Definitely will stay there in the future.

Buy your tickets from the concierge for the London Eye, double decker buses, and anything else you want to do to save time and not wait in line.

The hotel restaurant’s modern British cooking is a delight! The food is as good as any 5 star restaurants in london.

Close to everything we wanted

We were 2blocks from the Victoria subway station and bus station. Many good places to eat,grocery store within 4 blocks.The Globe theater was 3 blocks from our hotel and we went to see Wicked. I requested a cot for 2 night,as my granddaughter came from Oxford to join us, no problem and they did not charge me for the extra person though 2 night.We took a couple of tour and the tour bus picked us up right at our hotel.I would stay here again.It’s was so handy to everything we wanted and needed.

It does cost if you want to connect to the internet.We were so busy sightseeing ,that we only hooked up for a hour about every 3rd. night.Long enough to check e-mail and Skype back home.

Made our trip wonderful!

Park Plaza Victoria was perfect for our trip to London. It is truly conveniently located, only steps from Victoria Station, which is a major place to get a train, tube or bus. We were doing the usual touristy things and this was a great home base! The hotel is exactly as pictured on the web site. Beautifully decorated, very clean, friendly staff. The room was very spacious, (by European standards) and was also very nicely decorated. The bathroom was luxurious! We sprung for the Executive package and it was worth it. The lounge was great and the breakfast each morning was also wonderful. In fact, I treated my party to a "boutique" (translate- much more expensive) hotel for our last night in London, and the comment when we walked into the other room was "I liked the other hotel better!" (referring to the Park Plaza Victoria. I know it sounds like I work there... but I would recommend this hotel wholeheartedly.

London is a very walkable town, but when any native says "It’s a ten minute walk" translate that to half an hour. We walked a ton, and saw a lot of the city on the way, but it was a bit too much walking. Next time we will be a bit better organized so we don’t have to walk so much. We found busses and the Tube to run very frequently and they were very easy to navigate.

close to victoria station with luggage and long flight was very nice to be right there. they let us check in early. large clean bathroom. with 3 adults inthe room it was a great size for Europe. we added the breakfast and afternoon wine deal, great value for the money

Best London Hotel

I’ve visited London quite a few times and this was, by far, the best hotel I have stayed in during all my visits. The rooms are larger than the typical European hotel rooms. Everything was very clean and the hotel was well kept. The hotel staff was very friendly and extremely helpful. They were more than willing to provide any advice or assistance they could. Location is superb. 5 min walk from major tube stop!

Good location

We were very close to victoria station, which was very useful for getting to places. Pretty good size room for europe. The Bathroom was updated, However the airconditioning didnt work the 1st night, we called the front desk and they sent somebody to fix it immediatly. One of the biggest perks to the room was the fact it had a U.S. outlet. Since our converter didnt work it came in handy.

We got the London Pass, which allowed us access to all the places we wanted to see, and it included transportation using the tube and the buses and tains. Also it had discounts on restaurants and shopping. Very useful!

Great place to stay

This hotel was above and beyond what we expected. It was very nice. The staff was friendly, prompt and helpful. The rooms were fabulous. The proximity to Victoria Station was a huge advantage for sight seeing. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
