Great Hotel

Very nice hotel, clean rooms, great bed, I highly recommend this hotel. Don’t miss out on the free breakfast, the omelets are delicious. Go to Johnny Cascone’s Italian Restaurant down the street and try the Chicken Spedini and Minestroni soup...delicious

Clean and Friendly

As with all the Embassy Suites I have stayed in the rooms were large and well maintained. The staff was friendly and very helpful. My only issue was that the hotel advertised a restaurant for dinner but it was never open. You could food at the bar but that fact was not advertised well. There were a number places to eat close by but if you have been traveling all day and don’t feel like leaving the hotel for food and don’t want to pay the high room services charges this could be a problem. Overall, we have a very good stay. I will stay at this hotel the next time I am in Kansas City.

Wonderful stay!

My husband and I stayed for 2 nights to celebrate our anniversary and visit the kansas city area. This hotel had friendly staff and was close to the plaza and oceans of fun. The evening manager’s reception was awesome...some of the best margaritas that we have ever tasted! The breakfast buffet was wonderful...anything that you could possibly want!! We have stayed at other Embassy Suites locations and this Embassy Suites was a little older than some of the others we’ve stayed at, but was still very nice.

ok place to stay

Location was good, service was good, breakfast was enjoyable. The only down side was the condition of the carpet in our room. It was very stained and gross.

Nice place to stay if they would replace the carpet. Also need to allow an adjustment of the frig. It was so warm we couldn’t use it.

Will be back!!!

The staff was incredible. We relaxed during happy hour and breakfast. The bedroom and living area being seperated was very nice! We will visit this hotel again!

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

If you know you are going out for dinner and drinks why not have dinner in and enjoy drinks on the manager? If you know you are going to need to go out for breakfast whey not have hot cooked to order breakfast before you leave the hotel? It saved us money to spend the money to stay here!!

Pretty good

All Embassy Suites are nice - I’d rate this one average. the Manager’s reception was OK - they limited the number of drinks and the snacks were pretty basic, some of the breakfast buffet items were cold, but the pool and other amenities were very good. We’d definitely go back, because we enjoy what Embassy Suites have to offer.

Nice hotel, friendly staff, good breakfast, and a Hooter’s across the street. How can you go wrong? Seemed like a nice part of town. The hotel was quite a distance from our ’business’ in KC, but worth the extra driving time we encountered, albeit we were not in any big rush.I would definately stay here again if I have reason to be in the KC area. To be objective in this review, I keep trying to think of something that could have been better, but I really am not coming up with anything. It was a very enjoyable weekend stay.

J. Gilbert’s Steakhouse, several blocks North of this Embassy Suites was terrific! Had a late Friday night dinner and really enjoyed the experience. Great food, great service, great wine, all for a reasonable price.

Always enjoy our stay

I attend a business conference at this hotel twice a year. It is ALWAYS clean, comfortable, and well maintained. Recent renovations have made it even nicer! Located in a safe area. Close to main interstate. Glad to recommend....

Nice

Initially our toilet was not clean but as we left for the Royals game the staff had it cleaned and was very kind. The bed and the room was very comfortable and the breakfast was really good, esoecially the omlet bar. We would definitely stay there again.

Good service

We were traveling with a one year old and needed to check in early to give our child a nap. The hotel was very helpful. They gave us a room before the posted check-in time, and helped set up the portable crib. Each time we went to the front desk, everyone was extremely pleasant.

Relaxing

This hotel had a very pleasant atmosphere. My husband and I was greated with respect. The staff was very helpful. We are planning to stay there again soon.

Our stay at the Embassy Suites in Overland Park was wonderful. Embassy staff members were helpful and always available. The rooms were very nice; clean, comfortable and well kept. Breakfast and afternoon snack accomodations were excellent. The location of this facility is great; close to many things and easy to get to. Kudos to the Overland Park staff-all of you.

Would go back

The service was good, though one of the elevators was under repair and the hotel was being remolded at the time. The full breakfast included with the room is a great added benefit and the food was good. Would recommend this hotel to oneone travling to Kansas City area.

If you are travling with children I recommend going to Science City at Union Station in Kansas City. It was entertaining.

Great experience! Had a package with hotel and car which worked well. Hotel was very clean, spacious - great bed. Wonderful made to order breakfast

Feng shui compliant this ain’t

The hotel wasn’t as bad as some of the reviews on Expedia made me think. However, my husband and I had a couple other problems: what seemed like very narrow aisles and low balconies overlooking 7-story dropoffs and a bizarre fascination with triangles. The atrium is triangular as is the bedroom. There are also too many mirrors in the rooms - one whole wall of the livingroom and the wall behind the bed, which was at 45 degrees to the rest of the room (making the triangle). We couldn’t figure out what happened to the rest of the square. I’m sure it’s just ductwork but if you’re paranoid it would be easy to think that the mirror was one-way and there were people behind the glass. If you see this room you’ll know what I’m talking about. Our room was on the seventh floor and we both had serious vertigo trying to walk back and forth to our room. As far as more normal issues like breakfast, cleanliness, hotel staff, etc. the hotel is unremarkable. The breakfast is passable but not as extensive as other Embassy Suites I’ve stayed at before. If you don’t mind lots of glass and weirdly shaped rooms, the first floor would probably be okay.

The rooms was in very clean and well kept condition. The variety of shows was good on TV and the bed was the most comfortable out of any room stay in the past. Very courtious staff. I did wish the bar was open until midnight instead of closing at 11PM. The breafast was awesome. Also the best out of any stay. Very satisfied

A lot of places to eat and also a mall very close. Right next to highway bypass made if very convienant.

Could be a little nicer

This Embassy Suites was pretty good. I thought it was just a little bit away from being really nice. We hung out at the bar for a short time in the evening and the bar staff seemed disengaged and dissatisfied with what they were doing. Some of the other customers were a little shady too.

Nice time

The hotel was nice, the breakfast was good. Overall quite pleased with the hotel.

From excellent and good-humored directions by telephone on getting to the hotel, to my check out six days later, the service here was outstanding in every way. It’s partly midwestern customs, i think -- friendlier than the coasts -- but a lot of it has to be an unusually well-run hotel and carefully trained staff. I saw staff detailing bar stools mornings (!) and unobtrusively applying a coat of paint to corridors in an off-traffic time. Everyone kept asking if they could do anything else for me, and meaning it. Rooms were quite spacious and comfortable, nicely appointed, well-cleaned and made up daily. It’s a jewel.

Carabba’s is an old style Italian restaurant just across the road (Metcalf) and down to the right a few doors. Very good homestyle-plus food at quite reasonable prices, super-friendly and accomodating staff. A cup of soup and a salad for lunch is ’way better than you might expect.

The hotel is ok. Its nothing fancy, but the staff was great.

Great Customer service

Great location, near the highways. Seems to be about 15 minutes from everything. Hotel has pre-printed directions to many attractionas and shopping areas, along with free internet service in the lobby. Wonderful free breakfast and service, very friendly staff.

The Negro League Baseball Museum and the Jazz Museum are in the same building with a shared lobby. Great way to spend a day. The NLBM is about so much more than baseball and the Negro Leagues. A great place to see, hear and read about history.

I love Overland Park!

The breakfast is great.
