Acceptable for the Money
My conference hotel was fully booked, so I stayed here. The hotel website and management need to be less vague about the parking situation, which is rather inconvenient. They suggest that one can park on the street in the neighborhood, but what they dont say is that the hours in which you can actually find a spot are limited. Even if you find a spot, you will probably have to be out of your space by 9:30 am the next morning! The nearest garage is at least 1/4 mile away. There is one small, slow elevator for the whole hotel. Expect to roast, if the hotel has decided to turn on the heat (and turn off access to A/C), if it is a warm, autmumn evening. I had to open the windows. My room was dated, the bed was stiff, and the linens very synthetic feeling. Still, it was clean and reasonably comfortable for the price, and is in a good location for access to Metro, the Zoo and DuPont Circle.

Great location, less than great room
While the Windsor Park Hotel is located in a great neighborhood within walking distance of Adams Morgan & Dupont Circle (and for a great short run, you can hit up all the monuments), the overall comfort of the hotel was not great. My air conditioner didnt work the first night and the window view was of a brick wall. It is clearly an older hotel--instead of 2 double beds, we had one double and one twin bed and the beds are quite old. Overall, I was fine with the hotel because it was much cheaper than the Marriott & Omni nearby and I can pretty much sleep anywhere...

Would return
The Windsor Park is across from the Chinese embassy and within 5 minutes of the nearest subway on a quiet street. If you have a car, you will find it VERY difficult to park on the street. The hotel has no parking. Save money on a rental car and take the subway or a cab. The rooms are nice but the carpeting needs a bit of work (replacement). For some reason the hotel staff has plugged in a scent disperser in the lobby and that odor permeates the lobby and the first floor. They should remove it (I did one day but they plugged it back in) at a minimum for those who have allergies. The hotel cleaning staff should also learn to be quiet in the morning. They come to work and talk in loud voices and they also make use of the breakfast room to get coffee and heat their breakfasts. This should be a no-no. A good manager would clear up these problems in a minute. I would stay there again.
