not bad, but not not great
The hotel was nice and I read all the comments from others on the internet before choosing it. They all seemed to like it, especially for the happy hour which is really just three free watered down drinks, and the great hot breakfast is eggs and bacon or sausage with bisquits and gravy just like everywhere else. My non-smoking room was next door to a non-smoking room however the people in it were smoking and the person at the front desk advised them not to and still did anyway so my second night there, all I smelled was smoke and they did nothing about it even though I called to the front desk twice. That ruined my take out pizza dinner.
Go to port aransas, the beach is nicer there.

Very nice and affordable too!
I was very happy with the hotel, and especially the little extras. Free breakfast is included of course, but they also give you a voucher for three free drinks during happy hour. There were even free chili dogs and snacks! The room was well kept and the bed was comfortable. I had no trouble at all falling asleep. I will definitely be back!
Traveler's tip on recreational activities
Although the hotel is a little farther away from the island than many other hotels, the travel time is only about ten minutes longer since you are right next to the highway, and the room rates are generally lower.
