Le Meridien Munich

Perfect Location

Le Meridien Munich is situated perfectly for the traveller that takes the train in and out of the city, or uses the tram, metro, or walks while in the city. Located just across the street from the main Hauptbanhoff, it was amazingly convenient and easy to get to. And as we explored Munich, we found it was only a 5 minute walk to the beginning of the historic district. As we ventured out further, we used the tram to get out to the Olympic Park, Nymphenburg Castle, and the other outlying sites. The Hotel was very nice, the staff very friendly, and the only suggestion we would offer is that it can be noisy if your room is facing the street, so stay in an inside room.

Nice Hotel

It’s a nice hotel that is a little understaffed, which will lead to wait times to check in, and the room wasn’t ready until late afternoon, but it’s in a convenient location, close to the subway, which enables you to get all around Munich with great ease. I would recommend the hotel.

Do not stay there if you can help it..

The hotel is worn-out, staff not helpful. Starting at the check-in I was shocked at the condition of the counter in the lobby.. totally worn-out signature pad, staff did no attempt to help with the luggage or even direct to the lift. Good size room and bathroom, but the carpet looked so dirty you wouldn’t want to take your shoes off! Furniture in the room is scratched with few broken corners, walls need fresh paint in the rooms and hallway. This hotel needs a total make over.. It is simply unpleasant to stay there. I believe it is a mistake that they show up on Expedia as a 5 star hotel, can’t possibly be 5 stars!

Cannot think of anything negative about this hotel. Great service, great location, would stay again next visit to Munich.

Great value and accomodations

The hotel had a great price and quality. The surroundings could be better, but the hotel has a very calming environment. Remember to put the "Do-NOt-Disturb" sign if you don’t want to get bothered. If you don’t, you will have people coming every 30 min from 9 am asking to clean up your room. That was annoying.

Terrible service overshadows otherwise nice hotel

This hotel is clearly understaffed and several calls are required to get service. Amenities and location are nice, so if you are wiling to put up with the terrible service, then this is a choice for you.

The service and the room were both excellent, and the location next to the Hauptbahnhof is convenient, even if the area leaves a little to be desired.

Hotel only provides 15 minutes of free Internet at lobby computer each day, which is the only negative thing I can say about the hotel.

Nice hotel and ammenities

My wife and I had a great stay. We got a free room upgrade. The location is right across from the train station and very convenient. Lots of restaurants and activities near by.

Nice but not nice enough to be 5 stars

The staff were very lovely here, but we were disappointed with our room - from the hideous leopard print carpeting to the low-end bathroom. We did thoroughly enjoy the lunch we ate at the restaurant while waiting for our room, but we decided to check out and go across the street to the Sofitel rather than stay here.

Meridien Munich

This was a great find. Close to everything, near the train station and many restaurants nearby. Hotel is clean. Staff is professional. A return trip for sure.

A Posh Choice Right by the Main Train Station

Couldn’t be easier to explore Munich by train than from the Meridien. Gorgeous, well-appointed, chic hotel, large rooms (esp. for Europe!) and fully modern. All this literally across the street from Munich’s main train station, making arrival and departure, not to mention subway jaunts around town, and light rail out to Dachau and Schloss Nymphenburg, easy as pie. A real delight, and a very quiet room too - no street noise whatsoever! Walking to the old town was 10 minutes or less, and led you past some of the city’s best gelatto and pizza.

Traveler's tip on dining

There’s a Starbucks across the street in the train station if you’re cravign American comforts (German ice coffee is a type of desert w/ ice cream!) and incredible pizza and gelatto are right up Bayernstrasse - at the front door, one block to the right. Perfect in a pinch!

Great hotel. Price of hotel buffet was a shock as it wasn’t mentioned anywhere at the entrance to restaurant. The only downside to the hotel is that the location is a little seedy and not much to do in the area except take a train somewhere.

Outstanding hotel!

Stayed 2 nights. Hotel is across the street from train station, can walk with your luggage. Upgraded room to newer room for little cost. I think we could have gotten room for no fee increase if we wanted to wait, but we were tired from long train trip. Had room on 7th floor on side street, away from train station, asked for quiet room and this was it. Hotel is close to everything, downtown, etc. Walking distance. Had new room which was appointed in an outstanding manner, great bed, large lcd, modern furnishings. They even had an ice machine, which is rare to have ice in Germany, they even had cups next to machine for mixing drinks. Hotel staff was the most delightful and polite staff. Maid service was outstanding. Everything was perfect. I will only stay at Le Meridien on future visits

Eat at the train station is you want food late at night.

was suprised at how nice this hotel was. tracked down luggage for us and gave us a cake for our birthday. lobby was beautiful. comfortable room and good area, close walk to everything. great visit!

Great Hotel

Le Meridian is an amazing hotel. It has very spacious and modern rooms. A good location as well, located across the street from the main train station (Hauptbahnhof). The front desk staff is also very friendly and helpful.

Good stay

In general the hotel was pretty good. The room was comfortable and quiet. The bathroom was big with separate shower and tube. The only complaint was with the cleanliness of the bathroom. The WC smelled slightly to urine so I believe it wasn’t disinfected properly, which was of course disgusting and totally unacceptable for a 5 star hotel. We didn’t complain since we didn’t have too much time to think about this because we were pretty busy exploring the city. The breakfast was good and with a great variety of items to chose from.

This hotel was as perfect as it can get. Location is perfect, walking distance to everywhere in Munich. The staff excellent in all aspects. Quality of food and breakfast served: A plus. Spa not pretentious but very effective for a travelers need. Price was also a major issue, (hope they will not raise rates with all those compliments)... Definitely I do recommend this hotel

Right across from the main train station, making it super convenient for inner-city travel and beyond to anywhwere in Europe by rail. No train or street noise, newely redecorated room - everything was perfect (except the excellent price did not include breakfast). Highly recommended!

Solid Hotel

We are young professionals on a 10 day Eurotrip with two nights in Munich. We found a great deal on a room at this hotel on Expedia and very happy we booked it. The room was exceptionally clean, bathroom very large with a bath and separate shower, and the cable package was great. They even had the NCAA March Madness games. Service was great too. For the price we paid, it was a steal. Although I’m not sure if the same rates are available during the week, as this seemed like more of a business hotel. Also, you cannot beat the location, right next to the Hauptbahnhof (main train station).

Traveler's tip

If you are exiting the trains in the Munich train station, go to the exit on your right and then look to your right and you will find the hotel right across the street. You cannot beat the location.

if you dont like smoke...STAY OFF THE SMOKING FLOOR. The room was fine but the hallway was painful.
