Great service at The Langham

Our first impression of New Zealand hospitality started with the warm welcome of several Langham concierge gentlemen opening our doors, and taking our luggage. The rooms were clean, and had plenty of space. My husband and I enjoyed our hotel shuttle trips to and from the Auckland city center with the very friendly and informative shuttle driver. He was a wealth of information on dining and places to see. He had a great knowledge of New Zealand history also. We would recommend The Langham and will stay again when we return.

Nice place, but pricey extras

This is a really nice hotel, if you are in Auckland. It is close to the center of everything. They provide a free shuttle to the tourist center. However, though the price of the room is very good, they charge for practically everything quite a lot. Even morning coffee or tea is not included. Their pricey buffet is of good quality.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

If you are coming by car, leave the car in the hotel garage (they will charge you for it). You can reach to almost anywhere by walking or free shuttles.

Real Luxury sometimes a bit too much.

This is a real luxury hotel and you can grab a very good deal if you take advantage of low season rates.Excellent spa services.Very comfortable room.Plush oversized bed. Drawbacks: 1. They clean the room 3 times a day!!!. 2. Sometimes they overcharge you for extras:always double check. 3.Room service food is not good value. Apart from these minor problems I would definitely recommend this Hotel for its high standards.

You can use the complimentary internet rooms at floor 5,6 or 10.In-room wi-fi is pricey and unreliable.

Treated like royalty!

We arrived in NZ in early August and stayed at the Langham. We were so impressed that we immediately booked a room for the night before our return trip to America. The amenties included a free shuttle to the waterfront area as well as other ’hot’ spots in Auckland. The best amenty, however, was the helpfulness and courtesies of the staff. If in Auckland, this is the place to stay.

Airbus shuttle to and from AKL. The fare is quite reasonable and the stop is less than a block away from the hotel. Buy a round trip ticket and save even more. The Langham is the first stop from the airport and the ladt to the airport so stop and go city traffic is avoided.

Absolutely recommendable

We stayed at Langham for two nights in mid-June. Our arrival was at 1:00 a.m. and we were not in the best possible mood. However, the reception had been advised of the late arrival and check-in took maybe ten seconds. The room we had was of standard category on the 6th floor. The city view was, well, what you’d expect from a city view and so much for that. Decoration is a bit heavy to my taste but the room was practical enough. The bathroom is small and, like in many hotels, low, due to plumbing and air conditioning. No, I didn’t feel claustrophobic but it was close. I’m used to having the ceiling higher than 15 cms above my head - I’m 188 tall. The gym is good: all the necessary machines for a decent workout. The spa is excellent with an outdoor salt-water pool and a warm tub and an almost perfect Finnish sauna and a hammam. What I enjoyed most was the efficient and cheerful service: everything worked, from the doorman to the bar (did not eat there except for breakfast, though). Of course, that’s what one would expect to get at a hotel of that category but this surpassed my previous experiences in other parts of the world. I’m not sure how well it would suit for families with children and it’s not particularly romantic either. However, it is a great place to stay comfortably, even for a longer period of time.

Can’t wait to go back

While I only stayed one night, I had the best sleep of my trip and throughly enjoyed teh exceptional service provided me by the Langham staff. Everyone I talked to before arrival said I was staying at the best hotel in Auckland and they were right. I would highly recommend this hotel to any visitor. A+

Everything is within walking distance. There is even a free shuttle that will take you downtown and bring you back if you are not up to the ten minute walk.

Superb hotel with reasonable prices.

Everything about this hotel is first class. Our room was beautiful and the furnishings were very high quality. The location was excellent and the hotel’s staff was very attentive.

One of the best hotels in New Zealand

One of the best hotels in New Zealand. This hotel is off the Auckland city center but offers free shuttle service all day long which I used exstensively. Their new SPA is great.

Excellent value for money!

The Hotel manager personally took time out to welcome guests and make us feel comfortable. The shuttle service to downtown Auckland was frequent and a great boon. No parking problems, no hassles. Our return flight got cancelled due to engine problems so Qantas put us ALL up in the Langham and we got to enjoy the luxury of staying there again. Can’t wait to get back - the best value for money!

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Use the hotel shuttle to go downtown shopping, sight seeing, eating, etc. For breakfast just across the street from Langham is an excellent cafe which serves fresh, healthy, substantial food for a very modest price in a business atmosphere.

Best hotel in Auckland

This was a great hotel - amazing service, great rooms, and beautiful place. It is a bit further away from the downtown area than I would have liked, but all-in-all a great hotel.

Comfortable Minds but Not easy Access

Langham’s very approach from Airport. Why? Airport Bus direct stop in front of hotel Gate. But, After take tour back to hotel’s not easy. high Hills take a walk’s not easy. room’s clean and quiet.

What a great hotel!

From the moment you enter the elegant foyer you know this hotel was worth every cent. The bedrooms are lovely and well-fitted. The staff are friendly and efficient.

Excellent Hotel

The room was perfect, as we upgraded for a club Room. The hotel has a van that takes you downtown every half an hour. Don’t forget to go to the hot tub by the spa. It’s great after a good day in town.

Top of the Line Hotel

My wife and I stayed just for a day and it was wonderful. We got into Aukland early off a crew ship and they checked us in early about 9Am. We left the room for sightseeing and when we got back they left in our room some samples of local fruits and candy. Was very impressed with their service.

Great Place to Stay

We arrived very early and our room was not ready yet, but the staff kindly offered coffee and tea while we waited. He also provided us with a city map and even mapped out a walking route for us. The complimentary shuttle to the downtown area was also very convenient, stopping just a short walk from the ferry. Getting to the hotel from the airport was also very easy as it is the first stop on the Airbus route. The room itself was quiet, comfortable and fairly convenient to all the sights. All in all, a great stay!

Rooms just a bit dated. Staff very helpful and went out of their way to make guest(s) comfortable. Tea and wine/bar area nice to have a drink. Cafe/restaurant open 24/7. Most of the meals were good, some okay.

Wonderful Hotel and staff

Arrived 07:30 Saturday morning after a marathon flight from LAX. We were warmly greeted and provided an upgraded room, complete with fruit basket upon arrival. Hotel is lavishly appointed with quality furniture, flat screen TV, comfy bed and lots of pillows. The wine bar and restaurant were truly top shelf. My only complaint is the outrageous internet fees that are charged at many of the top hotels, including the Langham. $30.00 a day is bad enough but when they put a small data limit (60mb) on top of that and your connection dies after uploading some of the days pictures to a shared web site you’re left feeling ripped off. Compare that to $5.00 a day for unlimited access at some of the finer B&B’s and you really begin to feel cheated.

Really a first-rate place to stay

I can see why the Langham is consistently rated one of the top hotels in Auckland. Everything about it first-rate, from the newspaper at the door each morning to the marble bathroom and the comprehensive cable television system. If we get back to Auckland, it will be to go to the Langham.

Take the ferry across the harbor to suburban Devenport. It’s a fun place to walk, and you’ll have great views of the Auckland skyline.

Interline rate is the best

Very nice

We arrived at our room and found there to be a small problem with the cleanliness. Once reported this was quickly rectified. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was very good. The best poached eggs I’ve had in a long long time... the same goes for the omlettes!! hats off to the chef! Shaun

First Class Hotel

Great hotel, outstanding service, a little bit out of the way - but the free shuttle bus to town helps.

Not impressed

The Langham has old world charm. However, the faucets leaked in two of the rooms we had, the parking is very inconvenient, and the complementary fruit in the room was in poor condition.

Outstanding!

The Langham was exceptional in terms of service, cleanliness and professionalism. This is one of the best hotels I have stayed in during routine travel and found it to be the best value I have had in years. Without question, if you stay in Auckland, do not think twice about staying here.

Flawless Hospitality

I checked in to the Langham after a horrible day of travel (canceled flights, delays, etc), at 2am in the morning. I was miserable, and the Langham turned my day around. I was greeted warmly by two very nice gentlemen, and shown to my room. After grumpy airline stewards and mean customs agents, this was solace! The room was spacious and tidy, with delicious turkish delight and fruit, plus 24 hr room service. I had to leave at 10am the next morning (yes, 8 hrs later!) to go back to the airport and did not want to leave! The lobby smelled intoxicatingly fresh (again, I had been traveling for 20 hrs from Australia), and I couldn’t have been happier to stay there! The level of hospitality and comfort of hotel was top notch. Free internet (not wifi) on certain floors. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone, especially tired travelers (note: 30 mins away from airport).

This hotel was very affordable for the ammenities and level of service offered. There is a reason this hotel is so highly rated on tripadvisor.com.
