Immaculate Location, service not up to par

The property location is just 3 min to the Grand Place , 7-min walk from Centrale Station. The room and the public area needs some refurbishment. Lobby is small. The doormen at the main entrance mainly engaged in conversation not paying attention to individual guest in and out. May be they just care about those who arrived in the Mercedez. Staff are courteous yet lack the Rocco Forte service in other properties in Europe. The room needs a bit of refurbishment to make in line with other RF properties. The Tintin character in my bathroom is very small, a disappointment. If you are a tourist, the location is excellent, yet the service doesn’t match up to the room rate.

To us, it was an Oasis in Brussels!

We had had a disappointing hotel in Amsterdam, so arriving at Hotel Amigo was like heaven. The hotel staff is pointedly polite and cheerful, the room was crisp and clean and the best part is that the bathroom was the BEST SHOWER i had ever had. Good fixtures, high water pressure, etc. we loved this hotel.

all you have to do is walk right outside the front door of Hotel Amigo and you are in the midst of all the best shopping and sightseeing that downtown Brussels has: Chocolate, clothes, people, shops, CHOCOLATE, the Grand Square is half block away... etc.

An unobtrusive, pleasant, perfect place in Brussels

I booked this for an 8 day stay through Expedia without ever having been in Brussels before. I was unsure what to expect, but my stay at the Amigo made the experience one of the best business trips I have ever taken. The staff was always professional without being obsequious, the recommendations of the concierges were amazing every time (and I used them a lot for business dinners as well as for meals alone), and the location was, basically, perfect. I subsequently walked around Brussels a lot and there was no place that I would rather stay than just off the Grand Place. A great experience.

Great Brussels location

We spent a very enjoyable 3 nights at the Hotel Amigo, right around the corner from the Grand Place. The staff was tremendous, the concierge was extremely helpful in recommending restaurants, even with a first class restaurant right in the hotel. The breakfast buffet was one of the best we’ve had.

2 restaurants recommended to us were Restaurant Vincent, tremendous Chateaubriand and Restaurant Scheltema, excellent seafood. Both on the rue des Dominicains, across from each other. Forget the rue des Bouchers, big tourist trap.

Well situated hotel with reasonable restaurant

The hotel looks as though it has been fairly recently renovated and some things still need to be done in my opinion- the carpets in the corridors for example... It is excellently situated for a tourist, being effectively on the Grande Place, the service is good and the Italian restaurant - Bocconi - was full on a weekday night - a rare occurrence for a restaurant in a hotel...

It has a 5 star rating but, combined with a flight booking, was still an acceptable price compared with the competing 4 star ones...

Fabulous Hotel

My business takes me to a lot of cities, and a lot of hotels, and I have to say that the Hotel Amigo was truly a pleasure to stay in. I felt that there was a lot of attendtion to detail in the room, and as a result, it was extremely comfortable. I arrived very late in the evening, and check in was seamless, and a very attentive bellman assisted me with my bags. Room service was delivered expediently both that evening and for breakfast the following day, and the bed was extremely comfortable for this weary traveler. All of the employees of the hotel were particularly polite and helpful, which was much appreciated.

The Roue D’Or is a little brasserie located not far from the hotel, and had both delicious food and an entertaining decor. Try the apple tart tatin - it’s fantastic!

Fantastic hotel in central location

loved this hotel! A bit expensive, perhaps, but worth the money- everything you would expect for the price! It is centrally located. Everything about it was perfect, I was very pleased.

Excellent location, service not up to 5 star standards

Service at time of late night arrival was almost nonexistent. Room and bathroom comfortable and very clean; bed exceptionally comfortable. Internet in room did not work and took hours to be fixed.
