Excellent Airport Hotel
If you are a business traveler looking for a quality airport hotel, this is an excellent choice for you. Comfortable, clean, good sized rooms, large selection of included breakfast options, friendly hotel staff, and business amenities. The downside of this hotel is that it is in the middle of a so-so neighborhood (along with other airport hotels) and, while there are some food options within walking distance, the streets are not pedestrian friendly. At night it is a little sketchy but does not seem dangerous if you come from a large city. Do not expect a big nightlife because there is none. This is probably not the hotel for you if you are in Atlanta for tourism. Also, when catching the hotel shuttle from the airport make sure you are going to the right Fairfield Inn. There are two different hotels: North and South. It is very easy to get on the wrong shuttle since their destinations are not labeled clearly.
Traveler's tip for business travelers
The shuttle system of all the airport hotels is the most disorganized and chaotic I’ve ever seen at a major airport. It’s a total free-for-all with drivers parking anywhere within 9 unlabeled parking bays. Passengers are all running around looking for their particular hotel shuttle as drivers try to be heard above the hubbub of passengers yelling questions and planes landing in the background. Almost all the hotel shuttles are poorly labeled which makes everything worse.
