Amman–Queen Alia International Airport (AMM): Approximate driving time to the Marriott Petra is 2.5 hours and distance is 200 kilometres (124 miles).

Getting there: The hotel can arrange transport to and from the airport (surcharge). There is a taxi desk just outside arrivals and taxis to the hotel should cost around JOD 70. All prices subject to change.

Driving directions: From the airport, drive southwards on the I15. Take the Unayza exit to the city of Wadi Moussa, and drive through Shobak city. Take the Taybeh road and the hotel is situated around 4 kilometres further on the right.

Getting around: The only modes of transport allowed within Petra are on two feet or four feet (camel, donkey, or horse). The prices for rides are not set and can be negotiated, although don’t expect to pay more than JD 10. A camel ride is a unique experience on level ground, but a donkey is recommended for climbs to local attractions.
