Great Cheap Stay!

My family and I stayed for a week and were very happy with the staff. Everyone was very nice and helpful. The room was always cleaned up and had fresh towels and supplies when we returned each evening. The room could use some repairs and new carpet but the price and location is worth it for some. Also they did a great job with the free breakfast, even when we came near the end they always had food.

We found it easier and cheaper to take the public transportation. This way we didnt have to worry about parking and the bus drops you off at the front gates. A bus came every 20-30 min. We carried a schedule around with us so we never had to wait at the stops long. You can buy a one week bus pass at the airport or around town. Look up Lynx online for the bus routes before you travel.

Will use this hotel again

If you are traveling on a vacation where you are not going to be in the room all day and just using it to shower and sleep, then this is a nice place to stay. It is nice and cheap! The room was clean and comfortable.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Loved the attractions, my family had a great time.

Affordable place to stay

The motel is worth it. It’s a comfortable place to stay if you plan to sightsee or other daily adventures. The hotel offers a bus service to Disney but you have to come and go at their scheduled times. Breakfast is coffee, tea, cereal, bagels, toast, muffins etc. We had our privacy- maids/staff did not knock on our door till after 11 am. Parking was car to door. That became important because of Florida rain.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

Although The Travel Lodge doesn’t have the ambience of other high rise hotels it was worth what we paid. We had a that was comfortable, quiet, and easily accessible to load and unload luggage.

Basic accomodations only.

The room was clean, and one of the only hotels we could find that had three beds (fold out couch) so two extra adults could have their own bed. Adequate towels were provided daily and the location was very good for Disney and off-property dining. However, the breakfast they advertised was some bread to toast, cold cereal and a few muffins. Not the hearty breakfast other reviews seemed to indicate - we ended up paying for a full breakfast every day. The paint was peeling from the walls, and bring room air freshener, because there was a musty smell. If you are spending your time in a park and only sleeping and bathing at the hotel, this was adequate, but not someplace to relax for any length of time.

Traveler's tip on dining

A hotel like this with a great many options for family/buffet dining between the hotel and Disney is a good value for basic accomodation, but don’t count on a hearty free breakfast at the hotel.

The smell is overwhelming

When I read previous reviews I became aware of the possibility that the room might smell musty, but I was very disapointed to find that the smell was much worse than I thought it could be. I can never put my family through that again.

Traveler's tip

spend the extra 15 to 20 a night and stay somewhere cleaner.

Great place for kids

We took our three kids with us, and this hotel was perfect for us. I love that it had a fridge and microwave in each room. It also had a pull-out couch for the kids to sleep on. They also offered a free crib for our youngest, which I thought was wonderful. The pool was nice and never crowded. They also have laundry facilities on site which came in handy to us. We also loved the location - close to everything! The only negatives I had about this hotel is that the shower head was MESSED UP and barely trickled water. Also, they were remodeling at the time we were there and the parking lot was tough to manuever around. It’s nothing fancy, but it is a nice, clean hotel. We would go back - it’s a good value!

Traveler's tip on local attractions

We packed sack lunches each day we went to a theme park to save on money. We took our own water too. We had a blast.

GREAT LOCATION! WOULD STAY AGAIN!!

OK...just got back from my trip to WDW, and spent 5 nights at this Travelodge. Here are the realistic Pros/Cons: PROS: *Location - 8-12 minute drive to WDW parks, which made it easy to come back to the room to take a break. *Room Size - We had the 2 doubles with the pullout, and there is definitley plenty of room for 5 people (especially if some are children) *Area - Flea Market, Souvenir Shops, food, etc, are all within walking distance. *Pool - Pool was nice/heated and never seemed crowded CONS: *AVOID THE WAFFLE HOUSE on the site (dirty/bugs/etc) *Key Cards had to reset 4-times, as I was told they do not get along with cell phones, so keep them separate from everything else. *Shower heads could use an upgrade, and often was waiting awhile for hot water. Overall, this was a great hotel for our purpose...which was to rest/relax after long days at the area attractions.

Good for weekend away.

Rooms are nice and clean. Love that there is a small sofa and coffeetable. It was relaxing to eat meals there since there was a cold fridge and a working microwave. Nice variety on free breakfast.

affordable and comfortable

fairly large rooms, comfortable beds, good housekeeping. Close to most of the attractions. Free wireless internet access. All in all, not a bad place to stay. I’d return.

Cheap hotel, good location, clean

The hotel is for sleeping only - is not a resort by any means. The room is not a true suite but more like an extended regular room with an extra pullout bed. The Big Orange next door sells overpriced stuff, but there are tons of restaurants near by. Breakfast is cut-up fruit, bagels, cereals and other breads, no eggs or meats of any kind. Very decent value.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Get up early to get breakfast - the room is small and fills up quickly. Forget the shuttle to Disney - it takes forever.

Affordable and very close to Disney. Great deal.

The hotel does pay too much when look from the road with the giant orange in the middle of it (fruits and veggies shop). The staff is extremely nice and polite and ready to help. The breakfast buffet is really a buffet and the staff constantly watches over to fill the containers so everybody gets everything. The room we had was not great standard but comfortable and very clean. The staff even make some animals with the towels. We had fridge+coffee maker+microwave which was very useful. The place has a nice pool we did not enjoy for being too busy elsewhere. Overall, we had a great stay and will come back.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

THe hotel is very close from Disney (straight ahead 10min) which is appreciable for not having to wake up early to avoid traffic. A bunch of restaurants and shops are around (even Walgreens and Walmart) so it is extremely well located.

Travelodge

This hotel has a convenient location - the shuttle stops to pick up to go to Disney, which was nice. The rooms are big. They weren’t bad, but nothing fancy. They could use updating, but for as much (or little) as we were in the room, it didn’t really matter. There is a "Big Orange" (gift store) right next to the hotel, which is good for directions! Plus they sell yummy fresh grapefruit and oranges! Overall, the hotel was fine - it was nice to have a safe in the room too. There is a Waffle House right next to the hotel and a fantastic steak house a couple of buildings down. We were satisfied and for the price, can’t complain.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

The "Big Orange" store sells Disney and other tickets at a discounted price. We bought them online before we got there and could have got them for a lot cheaper there.

Needs Ventilation

The hotel was showing its age. Our room was very stuffy and it had a musty odor. The lights were inadequate, so it was hard to see in there. Our door had a catch when we opened it and you had to kick it a little bit to open it. But, the location was good and the restaurants were within walking distance. For the price, it was just fine. We weren’t in the room that much anyway.

disgusting bathroom

Upon checkin which was late 11:30pm despite their being fresh linens on the rack, the toilet had feces smeared all over the seat. I called the front desk for 10 minutes no answer 3 times. The room smelled very moldy. There was old dirty carpeting all tattered near the door frames. I wasn’t expecting deluxe accomodations from a 2 star hotel but I wasn’t expecting to encounter a biohazard either. The next morning the front desk apologized for the conditions of the bathroom and for not answering the phone. They had no explanation for either, said they would clean it and they did. upon check out at 5:30am I had to wait and extra 10 minutes while their computers turned over for the night. why at 5:30? why not in the middle of the night when most people are not trying to check out? there were 2 other people besides me with planes to catch waiting while the computer turned over. clerk was rude about it too. Nope there has to be a cleaner nicer hotel on that strip for the same or even a little more money.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

find another inexpensive hotel on the same road (there’s a ton of them) that at least cleans the bathrooms.

For Price

Was a decent value , however the room that was a suite was very small and had to rent an additional room for two days since what we had did not accomodate the number stated. The addtional room for two days cost more than the 5 night trip.

Great Location, very close to Disney!

HI, The hotel location was great, very close to Disney, a little far to Universal. Some of the hotel staff could have been happier. The hotel amenities could be updated, sinks, cabinets, couches, beds, etc. were old, but they worked. We did have a toilet clog at 11pm. The front desk lent us a plunger. The fan in the bathroom did not work. The laundry facilities could be larger. I actually went to another hotel to dry our wet clothes. The pool was open, however we did not use it. The breakfast room furniture could be updated. It was a good deal for the price. I would stay there again. However we like to try other places.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

You do get what you pay for, usually! Keep that in mind and you will be happy with the Hotel.
