Very Deceiving
I wouldnt stay here again even if they demolished and built a new one. First of all the hotel had a smell... an odd smell throughout. The elevator was poorly maintained and should have been the first indicator as to what we would expect in our room. We received a standard room on the 2nd/3rd floor. In the middle of the room there was a Dr. Seus red hat lamp.. which I hit my head on. The room itself reminded me of the cheap hostels in Europe. The beds were decent.. there was absolutely NO view of anything... the TV was too far from the beds... the closet was pathetic... the bathrooms were horribly maintained and lacked basic cleanliness... lets put it this way... my friend and I checked in around midnight and checked out the next morning .... and even after complaining and all the hotel was not at all helpful to make up for the poor quality of the room. They gave us a very hard time about the refund too... so travellers beware... DONT STAY HERE EVER .. DOESNT MATTER HOW GOOD THE RATE IS ...
DON"T STAY HERE EVER DOESNT MATTER WHAT A GOOD DEAL THEY HAVE...

Catalina Cool
It was our second time at the hotel and we were pleased with our experience. We appreciate the different perks that the South Beach Group Boutique Hotels try to provide their guests/clients. It is a great deal (e.g., free airport shuttle, free bike rentals, complimentary happy hour 7-8pm daily, free beach chairs, daily food specials, etc.) considering how expensive South Beach can be. We also believe that the Catalina is perfectly situated, at least its close to where we want to be both on the beach and in the S. Beach area. I would alert people that havent been to South Beach to be aware that most places/establishments in South Beach already include gratuity when they deliver the bill to you whether its a restaurant or bar. I imagine most people give an additional tip b/c they dont realize this and arent looking for it on the bill.

Absolutely Magnificent Service -Felt like Royalty
Me and my boyfriend stayed 3 nights over the later part of the summer and had an absolutely enchanting time. The rooms are huge, beds are extremely comfortable, and the tv is an absolute classy touch. The art decor theme appeals to the 23-38 range. Happy hour was mind blowing. :) And free! Me and my boyfriend would def. vist again.
Going during off season days will be best for a most enjoyable and affordable experience
