centrally located
Definitely one of the better holiday inns we’ve stayed at. Centrally located for most things in Calgary, particularly the Stampede and Saddledome. Access to the light rail system within quarter of a mile.

Room smells of cigarettes, train is loud and AC doesn’t work
The staff were pleasant and helpful, the hotel in general was clean as was my room but while there is currently a no smoking policy it is obvious that wasn’t always the case as the room I had still strongly smelled of old cigarette smoke. The heat and AC are centrally controlled and are on/off by certain dates therefore the room was very hot as it had been an unseasonably warm day and the only way to cool it was opening the window. Unfortunately there is a fairly active set of train tracks across the street and they must be on a curve since there is a lot of screaching metal sounds as the trains go by, forget sleeping if you have the window open. All in all I wouldn’t returen to this hotel unless I had too.

Hotel was clean and satisfactory to us; great maid service; the front desk people were not overly friendly; we were able to get a fridge and microwave with no problems; hard for freinds and family members to get through on the 866 telephone number....
