We will be returning!
We booked this hotel while in South Africa during our recent Christmas vacation, so we didn’t get first choice of our room, which we would have liked. The room was small and difficult to manuever around with all of our luggage, but it was clean and served its purpose. The hotel is very close to Table Mountain, which was great, and it has one of the best steakhouse restaurants we had eaten at in Cape Town! The rooftop pool was quite nice as were all the amenities. We will definitely be returning to Cape Town Lodge for a future trip!
Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay
Table Mountain has trips which are half off, but the line is pretty long, so get there as early as possible. If there are cancellations for Robben’s Island you have to go down to the Waterfront office at 7am, let them know you are interested, and they may release more tickets at 8am. If you are interested in shark excursions and they are booked, put your name on a waiting list for cancellations. That is how we got to go on our shark diving experience which is something you must do!

Perfectly serviceable city hotel
No complaints with the hotel. Location is on the edge of city center - not in a very walkable area, views are so-so, can be noisy depending on room location. But easily accessible and close to everything if you have a car. Excellent breakfast, very good dinner restaurant, good and lightly used fitness room.
