General Information
What to expect: The Imperial Samui’s inviting and colourful high-ceilinged lobby is oriented around a giant central pillar and sofa. A second air conditioned area beyond is similarly arrayed, and contains the lobby lounge. Low-rise, Mediterranean-style accommodation buildings are nestled into the hill leading down to the beach, and are reached via winding garden pathways.
Amenity highlights: The Imperial Samui features two free-form swimming pools, including an ocean-side saltwater pool. One floodlit tennis court is available, as are facilities for ping pong, and volleyball. Non-motorised water sports equipment is available free of charge to guests. The resort also hosts daily activities such as soap carving and Thai cooking classes (fees may apply).
Insider tip: Strolling down the garden paths, guests will see small terracotta pots strategically located near bridges and small ponds. Open them up, and find fish food to feed the myriad carp swimming the resort’s streams. For those who prefer eating to feeding, a 100 metre (110 yard) walk southward along the beach reveals several local surf-side restaurants, where diners can eat freshly caught seafood with their toes in the sand.
Property Amenities
The Imperial Samui grounds descend from the lobby area, down to the freshwater pool, and Jarmjuree restaurant, through tropical landscaped gardens, to the saltwater pool and sandy ocean beach. There is a fully-equipped day spa, and guests can also opt for outdoor massages by the beach. The resort also offers tennis, SCUBA diving, sailing, and daily afternoon activities. Laundry and babysitting services are available, as is airport transportation (surcharge). |
