Good value and location
This hotel is located within walking distance of most of the downtown area. Close to the Ferry terminal and harbor. The staff was pleasant and took care of our few requests promptly. The room was of adequate size, with the usual amenities.

We were very, very happy with the Royal Scott!
We loved the comfort of the one bedroom suite. It was like living in a small apartment and felt very homey. We both had plenty of privacy, room, access to a cute kitchen with everything in it that we needed, even salt. It was wonderful to sit on the couch in the living room after a day sightseeing. Also, the location was quiet, but still near to the waterfront. I would like the restaurant to be open maybe later in the evening and serving snacks like salads and small sandwiches. We were tired one day, had a high tea late in the afternoon, and we wanted a light dinner at about 9 PM.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
We went over to the other side of the Inner Harbor, and there is a walking path there with parking and lovely views of Victoria and of the float homes and of the Otters taking off and landing.

A good place if youre walking Victoria
A very short walk from the Ferry, close to the Museum, downtown, inner harbor. Butchart Garden tour bus comes right to hotel. Room was clean, quiet, bed very comfortable. The shuttle service was super convenient. The staff friendly and professional. Dry sauna, great jacuzzi, nice pool. In house restaurant was spendy so we didnt eat there but we were there for the brewpubs anyways. Only issue was shower - water temperature fluctuated. Talked to the manager and they are addressing this. Ethernet connection for internet was awesome quick. They have our business for future trips to Victoria. And the bear out front made for great pix - lol!
Traveler's tip
You dont need a car! Parking is horrible downtown, most everything is within walking distance. Tour busses go everywhere else and even public transportation goes out to Butchart Gardens for a nominal cost. Unless your plan is to drive up island, leave the car in Port Angeles or Seattle. Also a very wheelchair and scooter friendly city.
