Very comfortable, will go back

A great hotel with a very cozy atmosphere. The staff was amazingly friendly. The restaurant has great food and the bartenders and wait staff go out of their way to make conversation and answer questions. Clean and comfy rooms with huge shower. Very cozy, woodsy atmosphere. We will be back.

MY SECOND TIME AT HEATHMAN

THE HOTEL EXCEEDS EXPECTATIONS AND HAS MEMORY FOAM MATTRESSES ALONG WITH PENDLETON BLANKETS. VERY COURTEOUS AND KNOWLEGEBLE STAFF. MY ONLY DISAPPOINMENT WAS THAT THEIR RESTAURANT WAS CLOSED ON THE NIGHT OF OUR ARRIVAL. I WAS ANTICIPATING A QUIET DINNER FOR OUR ANNIVERSARY, INSTEAD WE HAD TO GO OUT TO A RESTUARANT THAT WAS OK BUT NOT THE CALIBER OF HUDSON’S. BREAKFAST THE NEXT MORNING WAS SUBPERB AND SERVICE EXCELLENT. NOT AN ORDINARY HOTEL, A LEAGUE OF THEIR OWN.

Traveler's tip on recreational activities

DO NOT MISS MULTNOMAH FALLS. MOUNT ST HELENS IS ALSO WORTH THE DRIVE BUT ALLOW ENOUGH TIME.

Nice Hotel for Vacation

It’s good and relax place in Vancouver. Only 10 min distance to Portland, which give you a relax stay, but close to Portland downtown enough. The hotel is nice, and staff upgraded us to Business Level which includes breakfast for the 2-day stays, Nice! Room is clean and looks new built. Big screen LCD TV, and iPod radio are in the room. My wife liked the bathroom as it’s clean and elegant. Will come back again if visit Portland/Vancouver Area. Nice Hotel, love it~~

We were extremely satisfied with all aspects of this Hotel. Cant wait to go back

Heathman lodge is by far the very best of the best. The decor was amazing, comfortable and close to many attractions. The staff went out of their way to please us and some went far beyond what was expected. We were sorry to have to leave, but hope this will be a place we come back to frequently

Traveler's tip on recreational activities

we visited Mt St.Helens,Mt Hood, drove to the Oregon Coast and hiked to the beach. It rained one day out of the 7 we were there, but even the rainy day didnt keep us from exploring. We saw the Columbia Gorge, hiked to mountains and saw many waterfalls, just fantastic..

nice hotel, nothing fancy

definitely a sure thing for comfort and cleanliness. no frou frou. it did have a fridge in the room which was nice. the only con was that our room was right off of the main lobby and restaurant and it was pretty loud out there. the door blocked most of the noise. if you can, ask to be on a floor level higher than two and away from the main lobby.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

the restaurant is a 4 star restaurant and is really great. a little pricey, but hey, it’s 4 stars and it was nice not to have to drive far. there is a mall right across the main road as well as some other shopping, which is great if you’re bored or need to shop during your stay.

Excellent

Only stayed one night. Spacious, surprisingly quiet room with two sinks. Pleasant reception. Decided to have breakfast at the attached restaurant. Really very good! Huge portions of very nicely prepared food.

see you for our next trip

The hotel was nice. The only thing I wasn’t fond of was the blanket. It is for some but it wasn’t for us. This is why I travel with my own blankets. Everything else was nice. We stayed at the Heathman for my boyfriends birthday it was a nice surprise for him :)

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

I’ve never booked online before. I went to Expedia before I went to any other web site. I decided to double check a couple different ones but then realized it was a waste of my time and I have learned just stick to your first find.

wonderful atmosphere

For a little bit more than a 3 star hotel you get a very clean hotel and room with lots of character. This is much more than just another hotel. I love the log cabin look and the pendleton wool. Highly reccomended.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

If you want a reliable shuttle however from the airport. make sure you give them a call in advance or you could be sitting at the airport for a while. Not cool.

Great Hotel, shy from room 204

My niece and I went for a girls weekend and stayed at the Heathman Lodge. Nice hotel with decor and service. Well worth the money spent. We used room service which was fast and friendly. Some remodeling going on, but we did not notice any noise or inconvenience. As an adult, pool was too cold for me unless I was doing laps. My 6-year old companion didn’t have a problem with it. Bed was very comfortable, I am considering getting a Tempur-Pedic after my stay here. Room was clean and nicely decorated. One short-fall was our room, #204. The door did not seal at the bottom, in fact there was nearly a 2-inch gap on one side. In addition, the room is right next to the restaurant and I could hear loud noise until after 11pm. Fortunately my 6-year old can sleep through almost anything and I am used to being sleep deprived. Hotel staff was courteous about my complaint in the AM and stated that after the remodel the room was being eliminated. Didn’t help me now and they did not offer any discounts, nor did I press for one. With that being said, I will still visit this hotel again, just get a room away from the restaurant.

A wonderful rustic getaway right in town

I chose the Heathman Lodge as soon as I saw the first pictures on Expedia. What more could you want than a mountain lodge getaway? As lovely as the pictures are, the experience is so much more. All of the workers are friendly and helpful. I was up at all hours of the day, even 3am and spent a lot of time lounging and reading in front of the fire in the lobby in the evening and late at night. Everyone was there if I needed something, but unobtrusive when I just wanted to read. The hotel is located in a safe area. It is three minutes away from the freeway (505). It’s at the edge of a quiet business and residential area. I felt fine going for a long walk at 3am. While I was there, the hotel was expanding one wing. I was right next to the construction area, and slept late, but I was never disturbed by building noise. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. I have never slept so well in a hotel before. My room also had a comfortable leather sofa as well as a desk for working.

Traveler's tip on dining

Be sure to try out Hudson’s Bar and Grill located in the Heathman Lodge. The staff was delightful. It seemed to be a popular place to dine for locals as well as hotel guests. They use locally grown ingredients. I had a smoked salmon BLT my last day there, and it was amazing. Also their creme brule is to die for!

Vancouver’s Incredible Log Cabin Hotel

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Heathman Lodge over the Christmas holiday. Each evening, after visiting relatives during the day, we truly felt like we were coming home to our own mountain lodge. The lobby, including fireplace and awesome log staircase, instantly made us feel at home. The restaurant is second to none. We ate breakfast or lunch there each day because there was always something new that we wanted to try. Our stay ended much too soon.

The hotel was a wonderful and was everything I hoped it would be.

The staff was very helpful and courtious. Although there was a tent outside our balcony, they never bothered us. I would say the one bad (and only ONE bad thing) was there were several handicapped "tourists", as we were, and there was never enough handicapped parking spaces when er arrived back to the hotel. There was construction going on (additions)but again, it was not a problem. Rooms were clean and very eco-friendly. My husband is a smoker and they accomodated us with a balcony. It was a WONDERFUL place to stay!!!

wish I could stay a week

our recent stay at the Heathman Lodge was wonderful. The atmosphere was relaxing even with little ones. The waitress in the restaurant for breakfast was fantastic. My Granddaughters, who think they are princesses, were treated as such. I cannot wait for an excuse for a return visit.

Under Construction

Hotel stay was nice (have been before), the facilities were clean and staff was fantastic. They are going through some remodeling, so don’t go to sleep with your window open if you plan to sleep past 8:00 AM. Chlorine level in hot tub was off the chart, leaving my throat and eyes sore for a day and a half after a 2 minute dip in the water. I will definitely stay again, but stay out of the hot tub.

Business class hotel with nice touches.

This is a business class hotel (think Hilton Garden, Courtyard Marriot) with nice local touches. I loved the timber lodge theme and and fireplace downstairs. The free laundry and internet are nice touches. We were here on vacation rather than business. Although not a ’resort’ it worked out fine and was better than staying at a motel.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

The hotel is located in Vancouver and is a short hop away from Portalnd. I loved the Burgerville chain of natural, organic, hormone free burgers and fries!

Great Place

Everything worked, everthing was nice, and everything was pleasant to see, feel and hear. Couldn’t have had a better place to stay in Vancouver or elsewhere for that matter.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Enjoy the pool during the week. Family’s bring their kids there and they let them run wild at times. Even though there are showers most of the familys don’t chose to use them. Business people seem to know what is right to do and step in the shower before they get in the pool.

The staff make this hotel awesome

I can’t say enough wonderful things about the people that work at the front desk. The hotel itself is very nice but the staff went out of their way to answer questions and help me find my way around the area.
