Hotel Needs work
I have stayed at this hotle 2 other times - but always in the main building. This time my room was in the annex. The room was very small and did not feel comfortable. The TV had 2 sound volumes - loud and mute. I went to the lounge to watch TV while my kids were sleeping and the TV there had sound but I was told by the person working the breakfast area that it had no picture. When checking in I had to wait over 10 minutes for someone to show up at the front desk as all there was when I arrived was a note stating "Be Right Back". All in all a dissapointing stay - the only bright spot is the price and location not too far from the Lionshead gondola.
Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay
Stay in the main building.

Aging Hotel in Great Location
This hotel has one thing going for it, that being the close proximity to Lionshead Village in Vail. The walk to the Village with its shops and restaurants is only a couple of minutes. The staff were friendly and courteous however, there were not many staff. Nobody offered to help with our bags, for example. The facility itself is aging. On one day of our visit--granted it was a very cold day--the hotel was actually quite chilly. The breakfast room was at 60F. The shower flow was weak and the temperature control was problematic. The beds and pillows were comfortable however and the room was neat and clean. There was not much closet space in the low-budget standalone closet. Another reviewer commented that he was placed in a "Valley facing" room. This also means a room that faces Interstate 70 which is only 40 yards, or so, away. The noise from the Interstate would concern a light sleeper. A continental breakfast was provided for free. Although it was better than nothing, it was not a bountiful breakfast, in fact it was a little on the meager side. I learned during my stay that the hotel is scheduled for demolition within a year or two to make way for luxury condominiums. This hotel was available on short notice. If I were booking farther in advance, I would look for another hotel and would search for a brand-name hotel. However, I doubt that I would find a closer hotel (to Lionshead Village and the lifts) at this price--which, by the way, was no bargain.
The hotel was lightly occupied, but most of the occupants were families.
