Disgusting, Avoid this place like the plague or you may get it!!!

This was the most disgusting place I’ve ever stayed at. The carpets were so filthy they turned you socks/feet black. the shower head had orange scuz all over it and in the morning I awoke with bug bites all over me. It was so bad that I checked out early despite having a non-refundable reservation. The hotel said they wouldn’t charge me but Expedia wouldn’t allow that so I ended up paying for it both in cash and physical distress. DO NOT STAY HERE.

For dining I ate at the Cup Cafe in the Hotel Congress complex. Nice folks and good food.

Decent

About what I expected for the price. Not awesome, but for the low, low price, nothing to sneeze at. Clean rooms and bathrooms, just not the best exterior and general neighborhood.

On the east side of town is a phenomenal ice cream shop named Austin’s. This is a must-eat local dining experience!

Pleasantly surprised.

I was expecting much worse when I arrived at this hotel. It’s definitely an older establishment, but they have renovated the restrooms and the bed was quite comfy. Carpet is old and stained, but overall the room was acceptable. One thing, the freeway construction was noisy on Monday night. Sat & Sun, no problem as workers were off duty. Rear of hotel rooms were for smokers ... I had to stay on freeway side and heard noise my last night there.

Won’t stay there again!

The motel was old and there were cracks in the counter tops and tile. The room smelled of mold or mildew. It was on the side of the building very close to I-10 and the road noise was awful. In addition, another set of patrons came in at 3am both nights we were there and were talking EXTREMELY loudly right outside our door. My husband went out the first night and asked them to be quiet and then the same the second night, but he was more forceful. I will NEVER stay at that Days Inn again. The breakfast was also very poor quality for a Days Inn--not at all what I was expecting.

Disappointed

First of all they checked me into a room with someone already in it! So I not only walked in on someone else but was worried if someone would walk in on me. The room was dirty and a few power outlets didn’t work.

Great deal for the price

If quiet is important, ask for a room away from the front which is right next to the freeway. Front desk helpful and pleasant. Wireless signal was excellent. Room clean. Probably not for fussy people, just clean and basic. Really limited continental breakfast. For the price it was well worth it. I would stay there again.

It’s Fine

This hotel is basic accomodation at a reasonable price. Everything worked in our room. It wasn’t fancy or recently remodeled or anything like that. The location is good for downtown or interstate access.

The hotel is very old and in need of a lot of repairs and updating especially in the bathroom!

Bathroom needs a good cleaning

Overall impression of room is good. A little run-down but had a comfortable (clean) bed. Nice hot shower with good showerhead (tub was clean). The chain lock on the door didn’t work and it was impossible to see throught the door peephole. The bathroom wreaked of urine. They need to do a good cleaning and disinfecting of the toilet and floor. If it hadn’t been for the urine smell the room would have been fine. Don’t know if all the rooms are like that, but this one was. Looks like an older hotel that they are trying to spruce up. I did sleep well. They had a maintenance form in room which I filled out and gave to management.

Road construction did not allow entry from Interstate 10 going East.

I made reservations via the internet and there was no mention that the exits from 154 to 158 were closed. After a very dangerous stop on Interstate 19 I called and the clerk was not able to help me. After I figured it out it was not that difficult. On checkin the clerk was not at all sympathetic. When compared to the Days Inn at Flagstaff, the continental breakfast was terrible. Rooms were clean and in good overall condition.

Traveler's tip

Stay away from this motel until the Interstate construction is comnpled. Tip for management -- notify those coming to be aware of construction and how to navigate to the motel.

comfortable bed

Stayed in several Hotels this summer. Days Inn had the most comfortable bed of all my hotel stays. I would recommend to others.

bad choice

Very bad maintenance in the room: Toilet didn’t work, TV remote control didn’t work.

1.5 star and clean:

The door didn’t close or lock when we first got there but the maintenance guy fixed it quickly. The service was prompt and pleasant. The water didn’t regulate temp well and it was not a very secure feeling in the room. We had no problems but we also carried our stuff in and out with us when we left for any amount of time. Nice for passing through but I wouldn’t recomend it for someone to stay at.

Buba Grubs steak house on 77 up on the way to Biosphere2 was AWESOME. Good steak, burgers, and all eles.
