Good for an older hotel.
The desk staff at check in was very helpful and friendly. Could have cleaned the bathroom a little better. Needs a little repair overall but well kept for its age. Better lighting in the rooms for business travelers is a must.

Not impressed
Quality Inn in Alexandria was very overpriced. It is an older motel which has been repainted. The furniture was serviceable but needed refinishing. The price we paid was about twice what it should have been. The fruit on the breakfast was not fresh. It was relatively clean and the bed was comfortable.

Its a place to stay
I have to admit that I was looking for an inexpensive hotel to stay in, and pricewise, this one fit the bill. Ive always trusted the Clarion brand for a satisfactory experience, and since a clean room in a safe area of town was my main requirement, I was satisfied. While the hotel does offer free wireless service, for some reason, even though the hotel seemed less than half full (judging by the parking lot at 10:30 at night), I was put in a room farthest from the lobby--from whence the wireless service eminates. So I had to go down to the lobby (after 10 p.m., mind) to get a cord to hook-up to the hardwire service. Once I did that, I had a great connection. The condition of the bathroom left a bit to be desired (mineral deposits on the showerhead and faucets in tub, curtain wasnt in great condition), but it wasnt anything that was unsanitary---just unsightly. The hotel is in a great central location, close to shopping and restaurants (with several on either side of it in walking distance). The "continental" breakfast is composed of several different kinds of pre-packaged pastries/muffins and cereals (nothing someone trying to avoid carbs could eat). But they did have coffee!
