Inn on Ferry Street - Detroit
The employees were friendly, the architecture and decor were beautiful. The location was easy to find and suited the purpose of my trip well. I probably would not have chosen to stay there without the package deal I got through Expedia, as the rooms are rather expensive, but I was glad that I could stay there with the combined airfare/rental car/lodging deal that was offered. The sleigh bed in my room was wonderful -- best nights sleep Id had in a good while. (I have already recommended this Inn to people that I know.)
There are more than two dozen Civil War generals buried in Detroits Elmwood Cemetery...Historic Fort Wayne (not to be confused with Fort Wayne iin Indiana, although it is named for the same man) has been in existence since before the Civil War. There is not much Civil War history at the Detroit Historical Museum, but it has some interesting exhibits.

A superb place
We went to Detroit to see an opera. The hotel was picked from reviews in Expedia. It was a superb choice. The manager and all hotel employees were very polite and friendly and very helpful. The rooms reminded rooms of an old time mansion . The breakfast was excellent and on each table there were real flowers. The shuttle service was beyond belief. They took us to a restaurant of our choice. They pick us up to take us to the opera house and at 11pm they are waiting to bring us back to our hotel!! The hotel is virtual walking distance to Detroit Museum of Arts and other museums. We intend to go back and we recommend it to anybody that is going to Detroit.

Great Place in Detroit!
They took great care of us even though they also had a wedding going during our stay. Shuttle service to downtown events is a great convenience, as is the free secure parking. Breakfast was great as always and the rooms are unmatched in their decor. Great spot to stay in Detroit, especially for couples!
