Get what you pay for
For what I paid for the room, I think it was a great place. The lobby personnel were accommodating and the breakfast in the morning was sufficient. Location is pretty good also. All in all, it wasn’t a bad deal.

Worst Hotel ever Stay
1. The room smell 2. Cracks in the room and placster falling down 3. Old features looks like it was built in the 1930 or earlier 4. I would not recommend of even have it on this site for a place to stay. Unless you have a need for dirty rooms.

Solid Lodging
Solid 2.5 Star. Older hotel. Decent breakfast, decent pool, secure parking.

McAllisters Deli across the street is MUCH better than the mexican rest. next door.

Disgusting
This hotel was beyond disgusting! The room had a huge hole in the wall, There were spiders and beetles in the room. The air conditioner would not get cold. There was a dirty wash cloth in the shower. The alarm clock went off in the middle of the night. There was gooey stuff on the carpet and the ceilings were absolutely gross. I felt like I was in the slums and I will NEVER stay at a HOWARD JOHNSON again.
Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks
You definitely get what you pay for so pay more to feel safe and get a good nights sleep. This hotel was not worth the savings!!!

Better than the reviews
Some of the reviews I read weren’t very positive, but I decided to stay at the hotel, anyway, because it was just one night. The hotel looked aweful from outside. The room was actually alright. Not the best hotel I’ve ever stayed, but good for the money.

Not impressed
The hotel is in a good location, but it is in desperate need of repairs! The wall heater/air conditioner had a 1/2 inch gap in the wall where you could not only see outside, you could feel the cold air coming through. The bathroom ceiling had water damage where the paint was bubbled & peeling and the hair dryer was hanging on the wall by one screw that was barely holding on.

HoJo on Broad
Hotel was nice, TV had some issues and there were not enough outlets in the room to plug in my laptop, actually had to unplug a lamp from behind the bed to free one, otherwise stay was okay.

Good value for your money
I found the room and facilities clean. Although a bit outdated. Good location, easy access to shopping, food, main roads and downtown Athens. I you are on a budget this is the place for you.

We never go back!!!
Rooms are small and they smell odd. The hotel manger is a jerk. Cont. breakfast had old food.
