No stars is pretty much what it deserves
Don’t stay at the Santa Clarita Motel, it may be cheap, but it is not worth it. The room is noisy from both the guests in the other rooms, and from the road/railroad the motel is next to. Nothing was done about the noise that other guests were making in front of my room at 4am. The smell of cleaning products when you enter is unbearably strong, which would be ok if the room had actually looked like it had been cleaned that well. On check-out day I got a phone call at 9am reminding me to check-out and that I had a phone bill to pay. Aside from feeling like I was being kicked out of the room (check-out is stated as 11am), I wouldn’t have minded the reminder about the phone bill, however when I was in reception, I was then told to pay another 2 times, the second time was whilst I was paying the bill. The area is not that nice, and it is fortunate that I had a car, because there is nothing nearby.

Nice budget motel for a stop on our budget vacation
We chose this hotel solely on its proximity to Six Flags Magic Mountain and the price. We were not disappointed. The exterior pictures are a bit misleading, the lot this motel is located on is not nearly as big as they imply. Nonetheless, we were pleased with our one night stay. It appears newly updated inside and out. You can tell that some thought was put into the decor and it was much nicer than other budget motels we have stayed in. Little touches like modern furniture and crown molding made a good impression. The furniture, though not expensive, was nice and in good condition. The bathroom tiles were as pictured and also in good condition. The bathroom was also cleaner than other motels we have stayed in - the corners could have used a better cleaning/ dusting but that is the only complaint I can think of. No mold here. The lobby is small, but the attendant was efficient. The motel is located approx 3 miles from Six Flags Magic Mountain: approx 2 miles to the end of Magic Mtn Pkwy, turn right then another mile or so. The area does seem to get worse - more industrial - as you go along but we were never worried for our safety or valuables in the car when parked overnight. We didn’t hear any road noise. Shopping and dining are convenient nearby on Magic Mtn Pkwy.

nice room for the price, close to magic mountain,clean and nicly decorated. Request room towards back if sensitive to auto noise from road.
