Was like coming home - Heck I was born in Québec City!

I booked the Clarendon on impulse because of its location (and Expedia had a large discount on for a few hours. We had a beautiful view of the Chateau Frontenac from our room. My partner had not been to Quebec City for over 35 years, so having someone who was born there and speaking the language was a plus! Minutes from "Les Anciens Canadiens" a restaurant serving French-Canadian dishes, from the Terrace Dufferin overlooking The St Lawrence River and Lévis, from the Plains of Abraham and "Le petit Champlain" - a street below the "Terrace", filled with charming boutiques and restaurants, as well as performing artists made the visit even more special. My friend was so impressed that she wants to go back in the spring, when some of the museums will re-open. Congrats to the Clarendon staff for their warm welcome!

In restaurants: Le Lapin Sauté on "le vieux Champlain" (rabbit is main offering), is well worth experiencing. Along St Jean, there are a number of unique offerings from wings/ribs, an eat-in bakery with daily combos specials and many pub-style venues. Don’t forget "Aux Anciens Canadiens" - well worth the visit! We found "Chez Maria" in Ste-Anne-de-Beaupré offered good home-made fare, although their speciality is Pizza. Don’t forget to sample some home-made "sucre à la crème" (a bit like fudge) on your way out! Enjoy Québec’s whatever the season!

Nice clean facility for a reasonable price

Excellent location and very helpful staff; the hotel has some nice european flavor, the room was not really spacious but very comfortable and with nice views to the city. Parking garage just at the door and the daily rates were very affordable so I didn’t touch the car for my two days stay. recommended for short/medium stays and for someone interested in visiting the city by walking.

Not a really bar friendly city; many bartenders are not trained properly to do their job and some are plainly rude. Restaurants are just the opposite so go figure...

Wonderful experience

Though a little outdated this was a wonderful hotel. Perfect location and the staff was very nice and helpful. Perfect place to walk around shop, find eateries, etc. We told them on our checkout how much we enjilyed our stay and looked forward to a return visit some day. The room was a bit small but nevertheless very well kept for it’s age. small sacrifice to all of the other benefits.

We never tired of walking the whole area as there was such a variety of shops, boutiques, etc.
