No tricks!A nice treat!
We stayed in the Barrone plaza on Haloween 2009! It is super close to Bourbon street, across Canal street, so it was not on Bourbon, BUT close enough!!! It is modern and nice! It is a an old Sears Roebucks building they converted into this modern hotel!(told to us by the Bellman, upon check in) The standard room has a King size bed, which is a huge bonus for my Husband and I since this is what we are used to at home! Check in was smooth, easy and they had our room when we arrived at 2pm! The standard King rooms dont have an exterior looking window. But we didnt come to see the city from our room! The only thing that Id like to mention is that the parking situation is very difficult in the French Quarter. The Barrone Plaza offers a Parking a garage/Valet that is available for $22 extra dollars! It was mentioned in the registration when I first booked, but wanted to mention it is extra, they did make it convenient and the bellman was especially nice and helpful with the baggage and parking! There was a Walgreens a block away...nice for last minute items!(saftey pins for costumes!!) Overall, we really enjoyed the hotel and our stay at the Barrone plaza!!

Recovering NOLA
The rooms were comfortable and the bathroom was massive. Marbled bathroom with separate tub and shower. Staff was most accomodating. Redone lobby was being finished in November 2009. This hotel is a good base for discovering New Orleans and the French Quarter.
Going to Mothers, 401 Poydras, is a must for anyone going to NOLA and wanting great authentic food. I had to guard my bowl of Crawfish Ettouffe from my wife.
