steps away from the rail station, but on quiet street. clean basic room, nice breakfast
The hotel is just steps away from the main rail station, but on quiet street. Very convenient to catch an early train and not to cary your luggage far (if your bags are big, they may not fit in the TINY elevator). Clean basic room (would rate it 2 star), nice breakfast included (starting at 7am - earlier than other hotels, so you can still eat and catch the morning train). There is AC, but you cannot control it- need to call reception to adjust temerature every time
Traveler's tip on dining
Bakery next door has cheap good stuff and alcohol too

Good Last Night Hotel
My wife and son and I were in Rome for the week, but wanted to be near the train station for our last night. The Corot Hotel was ideally located for the half block walk to the train station in the morning, after a good breakfast. The hotel was quiet, the room was clean, and we were quite satisfied with our choice.

Great Value!
We got a great deal on this hotel and for the price is was wonderful. Great location (close to the station) and the staff was very nice. You get free internet with your stay which you can use in the common area and the room was fairly large with lots of storage space.

When you need to be very close to Termini
The hotel is good enough when you need to take a train at Termini station very early. You just need to walk half a block. This benefit has to be considered in the evaluation of the price since you can not expect any additional value but a regular hotel just for a night or two.

Unfortunate location
The Corot is hardly a block from Termini and suffers from proximity. This is a high traffic block and there is no buffer between the hotel and the outside world. We stayed here because it was available on short notice and the price was not as outrageous as so many hotels in Rome. The staff were courteous and available and the room, tho small, was clean. The only complaint is that the room had a strong odor of cigarette smoke. Under the same circumstances, I would stay here again.
Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks
In Rome, eating at a "restaurant" means spending 35 euro or usually more for two people. We spent 37 euro for a spaghetti dinner for two. To save a couple of bucks, have one nice fancy expensive dinner (to say you did it) and eat the rest of your meals in a pizzeria or bar. There you can usually get a pizza, maybe some pasta, and fresh sandwiches with beer or wine for under 20 euro.

Affordable Hotel
The location of this hotel is a plus. It is located one block from the metro station. There are several attractions located at walking distance from the hotel. The Corot offers free breakfast. However, they do not offer internet services. I would recommend this place if your plan is to spend most of they day outdoors.

Practice negotiation skills before arriving to Rome. You will need them.

Comfort within Budget
Stayed at Corot Roma with my wife and 10 months daughter for two nights in December. Location was ideal for traveling within city and outside. Room was excellent for the price payed. Room Service and Breakfast were also good. Staff was very nice. The only negative was the lift. Its old and very small but managable when you look at the price. Very good budget hotel.

Good Location
I found the front desk staff tremendously helpful at making dinner reservations, calling cabs, providing recommendations for shopping. Being near the train station and other Metro stops made it easy to get around Rome. It was also on a quiet street. The rooms are cozy, as was the shower, but everything is elegantly appointed. The buffet breakfast could have a little more variety but the offer of capuccinos every morning offset that minor complaint. Very were very clean. All-in-all a great find.

Very Well Located
Located a 2 minute walk to the left sife of TERMINI STATION, a good hotel WITHOUT wireless or Free internet, but you have a 1 euro 30 minute internetcafe just beside it. Good hotel, ok continental bkfast.
Traveler's tip
NO ONE in rome knows of the fabulous night bus to Flumicino Airport (rome main airport) had to leave at 2 am for an early 5 am flight to new york back. You have to take the night bus at Termini Station. Station is closed but you have to walk all the way up the station, very near the end near the stoplight. There you will see the sign. go to the flumicino site and bring down the info. one way only 9EUR! taxi ride EUR 70

Good value for money
My mother and I stayed at the hotel for three days and two nights. On a whole this hotel we found that the hotel gives you good value for money. The rooms were tidy and comfortable and the bathroom was lovely. We could hear the noise at night from the cafe on the street below, but it was pleasant, not intrusive. The breakfast was quite nice as well and the lady who was overseeing the dining room was very warm and friendly. The hotel kept our bags after we checked out so that we could attend the Popes General Audience, which was extremely convenient. The only downside was that the reception staff was not very friendly or helpful. Although I was trying to convince myself that their apparent unfriendliness was just a consequence of the language barrier, I was not too successful! Luckily though, we were able to find things out by asking others and by being resourceful. We were able to communicate with other Italians (not employed in the tourism sector) who displayed the warmth and enthusiasm which was lacking from the staff at the front desk. I think that the hotel could improve in this area by giving reception staff some pointers on how to give guests a warm welcome. In conclusion, it was very enjoyable and we would recommend staying there, but I would also mildly caution anyone not to expect too much from the staff at the front desk, so as to avoid any disappointment.
Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks
Buy the Roma Pass! It gives unlimited access to public transportation, your visits to the first three sites and/or museums involved in the Roma Pass initiative are free, and you get discounts on visits to the others. We were able to jump the line at the Colosseum because of it. And watch your bags on a crowded Metro.

Great Location and Great Service
We arrived at main Rome train station (this is also the station where the airport train arrives). We walked outside the station and could see our hotel just across the road. So easy! Since Termini station is where Romes two metro lines intersect you can get to anywhere you want to go in Rome very quickly. Also, the sightseeing buses all depart from right outside the train station. The hotel itself is great as well. Remember this is not a "deluxe" hotel - if you are someone who needs to be ensconced in luxury, dont stay here (eg the breakfast is only "continental" ... there is no cooked breakfast option). But if you want a hotel with friendly staff; a clean & quiet comfortable room... then this is the one for you. Surrounding the hotel you have a lot of good value for money restaurants. We had read in guide books that the train station area was not a good area... however these comments refer to the other side of the train station and does not apply at all to Corot Hotel. We never had any concerns at walking through the neighbourhood at night.
