Great place to stay, especially for your first time to NYC

Excellent location adjacent to Times Square. It’s walking distance or a short train/cab ride to everything on Manhattan. The hotel allowed us to check in early because a lower level room was available and said it wasn’t a problem to move us the next day, which was really awesome. All of the staff were extremely helpful and friendly, but the manager was a little grumpy when we requested to move to our more expensive room for the remainder of our stay. Since Times Square can be loud even after getting back late, it was nice to move to a higher level room that was extremely quiet. The decor was fun and tasteful and the rooms were relatively large, but we had to try not to smirk every time the elevator doors opened up with dance music bumpin’. The concierge made a recommendation and reservations for an awesome brunch.

If you stay close to midtown, I recommend flying into Newark. There is a fast (even during morning rush hour into the city), easy, and cheap shuttle bus ride from Newark to the Port Authority building (and a couple other stops).

Would choose this hotel again .

We were celebrating my husbands 50th birthday and the concierge staff went out of their way to accomodate our every wish and make the stay memorable. From complimentary champagene in our room to "impossible" to get dinner reservations they were wonderful. The hotel is beautiful and the location very convenient to just about anywhere. Would most definately recommend to anyone wishing to be in the Times Square Area.

Service Was Great, The Hotel Was Too Avant-Garde

I was in NYC on business and shared the room with a co-worker. There was nothing really wrong with the hotel or service. However, it was a bit too avant-garde for both of us. The bathroom was encased in frosted glass and had a sliding door, and didn’t feel very private. This created some awkward moments that required housekeeping to tape some paper to the enclosure for more privacy. The linen contained goose down to which my co-worker was allergic and this required housekeeping to strip the beds when we returned from dinner and supply us with linen that did not contain down feathers. The lobby of the hotel is on the 7th floor which requires all hotel guests to change elevators to access their rooms. While I realize the the lighting in the lobby was intended to create a distinctive atmosphere, it was rather dark and made seeing somewhat difficult. The service was excellent!
