Not for late sleepers...
This Super 8 was "just okay", I’ve stayed at better. The room was decent and clean. We went there to attend a class reunion, which lasted very late. At 7am the people upstairs were up and packing...clomp, clomp, clomp for an hour or more, not at all sound proofed. Then I believe the cleaning crew went in right after they left and made more noise. We decided to get up but by the time we went to the front for a cup of coffee, it was gone, they only keep it out until 9am (even on a Sunday!). Needless to say we hit a DD and headed for home.

Good for the money
My children and I recently stayed at the Super 8 in Old Saybrook, CT. It’s certainly not a luxury hotel. But as a place to sleep and take showers in a clean environment it’s fine. Staff people were cordial and helpful. The only complaint I would make is that the pool wasn’t open. I guess it was too early in the season. Satisfied with the stay otherwise.
Traveler's tip on recreational activities
Take a lobster boat tour of the light houses around New London, CT. An hour tour is very reasonably priced at Down East Lighthouse Cruises at Pine Island Marina, Groton, CT Talk to Captain Jeff.

Pleasantly Surprised
My husband and I have never stayed at a Super 8 before and we were pleasantly surprised. Room was spacious, had a huge walk in closet, and was clean. We stayed on the 2nd floor which has a walkway that is a balcony so we could sit outside and enjoy the spring evening before dinner. There is an Italian restaurant next store that is great value for money (note: the restaurant only takes cash, no credit cards). My only criticism is the water was a bit slow to go down the sink drain, it just needed alittle "draino".
