Super 8 Motel Grinnell

Bugs, juice machine didn’t work, billing was messed up.

You Get What You Pay For...

My husband and I travel to Grinnell every year to visit family. This year we stayed at the Super 8 because it was the cheapest. Big mistake. Despite being told that our room was "new" it was very dark and musty. The bathroom was disgusting. It was obvious that the floors had not been mopped in some time. It smelled of urine. The shower walls had all kinds of hairs (including what looked like pubic hairs) on them. The blankets on the bed were full of cigarette burn holes and the comforter was so stinky we threw it on the floor every night. The worst thing that happened to us though was that we came back to our room after being gone all day to find that the cleaning lady had left our door wide open with all of our belongings inside. Apparently she had been distracted while cleaning our room because the dirty garbage cans were sitting on top of the bathroom sink with no bags in them.

Have a candyland ice cream sundae at the coffee shop downtown, a pizza from Pagliai’s, a coney from Hansen’s bakery, a tenderloin sandwich from Dairy Barn, and a Maid Rite!
