Perfect for cruise travelers

We drive down from Kansas every year to cruise out of Galveston. This place was just right for us. It was located about 25 minutes from the pier and it was just off I-45 and had several food and fuel choices surrounding the facility. Nice, Clean and Quiet! Great bargain......we will be back in 2010.

Great place to stay for one night before going on a cruise out of Galveston. It is very close to the pier. The workers were friendly.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

It is a two story motel with no elevator. If you have a lot of luggage request a room downstairs.

Good for the price

We stayed here for 2 nights. Room was clean except the shower had soap scum on walls, tub was clean however. Bed linens could have been a bit better, cigerette hole noted in blanket. Also the blanket under bedspread gave me the absolute willies...texture was very rough and just felt creepy. So if this kinda thing bugs u pack an extra blanket. Bed was fair..not great for a lengthy stay. Renovations were in progress..new toilets, vanity/sink, shower heads noted. Overall it was ok for the price. Next time will spend the few extra bucks for something better.

Cracker Barrel resturant next door was nice, got to do some shopping for my favorite yankee candles and enjoyed good home style food.

Room was dirty and the whole place smelled really bad

strange odor

The room had an odd odor that I could not identify. It was obvious each time I walked in the room but then I got used to it while in the room. But next time I walk in...there is the odor again.

Nice place to Stay!

It was a nice clean place to stay. The people running it were real polite. I would go there again. I liked the breakfast that they offered.

If your looking to save some money and dont mind traveling 25min to the ocean it is a great place for the money.

Good Value

Hotel did not have an elevator which wasn’t a problem. Rooms were clean and comfortable (too much pine oil). Would stay again without any hesitation. Great value--not four star but doesn’t have the cost of one either.

Falling apart!

The owners of this hotel are giving it their best try. They are repainting but tried to put us in a room adjacent to the painting. We were promptly relocated to a room that smelled a different kind of funny, had a shower curtain rod that attacked, a toilet that clogged and the worst bed I have ever slept in. Continental breakfast was meager at best; better off at the Waffle House next door.

Great Mexican restaurant: Esteban’s. Terrific food in a land of strip malls and chains.

Stayed there before. Will stay again.

Very nice personnel. Very clean. I do wish that the smoking rooms were not next door to the non-smoking rooms. Our first night experience was a strong smoking odor in our room.

Nice place for the money

I stayed for a few days with my husband and infant daughter. Since she has come along I’ve become much aware of hotels and cleanliness. I was very satisfied with this hotel. I would recommed it to anyone traveling to the Houston area.

Quick stop while waiting for cruise boarding

Stayed at this hotel because we had to come in a day early before we went on a cruise. Hotel is ok. It is farther from the port than we originally thought. Has an indoor pool and continental breakfast is served.

would consider staying again

For the price we were very well pleased. The room was layed out nice. There were not good choices of channels on the TV. Was happy with the cleaniness except that the bathroom floor was not swept and mopped because when I went to the restroom there were toe nail all over the floor. It was late and the cleaning crew had already left so I had to clean it myself.

Not to Shabby!!!!!!

We were expecting to be a little closer to Moody Gardens but other than that this hotel was amazing. I accendently left my coach shoes and PURSE and they stole nothing and was very honest about everything. GREAT BEDS! so comfortable!!!

Good for short stays

Hotel was no doubt good , exceeding my expectation . Continental breakfast was good . staff was very friendly .Only problem I faced was that there was some drainage problem in the rest room , needs some maintenance for that.

Won’t stay there again

Pros: Good location, with a supermarket really close by and highway 45. Not a lot of noise from the highway makes it indoors. Cons: The room I ordered wasn’t available on arrival. There’s only one wireless transmitter (in the lobby) resulting in a terrible wireless connection in my room. Disgusting cleaning fluid smell (disguised as grapefruit) permeates the entire building. Shower curtain bottom moldy, and the top of the bath-unit under the shower-head also moldy. Bathtub faucet dripped constantly. No real cold water. You definitely get what you pay for!!
