Dorint hotel in Basel is highly recommended
We stayed there two nights in mid-November. The weather was awful, but the hotel was a pleasant surprized. Convenient garage, proximity to public transportation, very friendly staff. We also got a very reasonable rate. Highly recommended, especially for business travelers.

Clean, quiet hotel in Basel
We were greeted warmly by a woman speaking excellent English. We were early and our room was not ready but they provided a locked storage space. Our room was clean, quiet and quite comfortable. The hotel has easy access to public transportation.

right next to convention center
convention center is right around the corner, parking is secured, you get a mobility ticket from the hotel to use public transportation for free, breakfast and dinner is extra, but tastes awesome, room service is great, mattresses are a little hard, but you get complimentary water (bubble water) in your room... overall awesome stay!

very nice
this hotel was very nice and the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. even though it’s a little distance from the town center, there is a tram stop about 2 minute’s walk away from the hotel.

Nice place to stay but nickel and dime you
The hotel was clean and in a good location. We were happy with the room and the free passes for the trams. The parking was expensive. The breakfast was expensive. The internet was expensive. The bed linens were small. Overall was a good room, but just didn’t leave with a good feeling.

Make reservations for the local restaurants. They can be really expensive.

Just fine
My 5-day stay was perfect, though some will wish the location didn’t feel so isolated at night. In fact it’s reasonably close to evening activity and it’s just the immediate location that’s lacks street life in the evening.
Traveler's tip on recreational activities
When things are quiet on Sunday rent a bike and join everyone else on the path along the Rhine. Also enjoy the paper manufacturing museum and the lovely restaurant alongside it.

Great hotel near the convention center
Clean and modern hotel, right next to convention center. Only downside is that there are no restaurants, shops, etc. within the immediate area, although the hotel does have a nice restaurant. I did find a group of restaurants about 1/2 mile down the road, but it’s not a good location for exploring the city by foot. For this, you’d be much better off in the historic part of town. Still, I’d highly suggest this hotel if you’ll be attending the convention center.
