Better than three stars
I almost didn’t book this hotel because of the 3 star rating, because our four star hotel in Rome was just okay. However, this hotel was exactly what we wanted and needed. We loved the room design and all of the modern amenities. The bathroom was modern, roomy, had a towel warmer, and the linens were like new.The man at the front desk spoke english, and recommended a delicious seafood restaurant within walking distance. The hotel included a very nice breakfast. Overall, we loved this hotel. One caveat ....the hotel is across from the futbol stadium. I suggest asking if a game could cause the area to be noisy at night.

Excellent Hotel Near Downtown Vicenza
Hotel Continental was a great place to stay. You can’t beat the location, cleanliness and size of the room. We’d certainly stay there in our future trips to Vicenza.

Lovely Place; Lousy Location
The Continental is old, but kept up nicely. It’s clean and the bathrooms have been refurbished excellently. It’s an especially great place to stay if you’re going to a sporting event at the Aviano Stadium: the Continental is right across the street from it. But, it’s just far away from downtown to be inconvenient. There are no restaurants, cafes or even grocery stores close by. And, while it’s a pleasant 15 minute walk to quaint Old Town Aviano in the daytime, at night this same walk turns creepy: hookers, dealers and bad lighting pour a seedy pall over everything. I suppose at one time the Continental WAS in a good spot; but the neighborhood sunk even as the old hotel stood -- and stands -- proud. In all, it’s a sweet little hotel condemned to a less than savory neighborhood. Comfortable, clean hotel at a decent price for college kids, bachelors, priests, social workers, writers, budding entrepreneurs and folks on a budget. If you’re looking to impress your girlfriend, though, you might want to check out a 4 or 5 star place instead.
Traveler's tip on recreational activities
Get the name of a good cab company and keep it in your wallet. The walk to and from the old town is creepy at night and a cab is a necessity.
