Great Place to Stay!
Rooms are extremely clean! Bed is not the most comfortable. Although the resort is absolutely gorgeous, you cant really get anywhere without a taxi or a rental car. The resort workers and owner are extremely nice and make you feel more than welcome! We even had drinks at the bar with some of the employees who were SO nice to us! The pool is great to float around in both in the daytime and at night to look up at the stars. The beach is right at the hotel and snorkeling there is a lot of fun. Definitely visit Buck Island while youre there! Go during off season! Its cheaper and theres barely anyone there! St.Croix is beautiful and Chenay Bay was a great place to stay. Definitely would love to go back!

nice place to stay
we had 3 families staying in the cottages, 3 different cottage styles. One cottage was a one bedroom, the other 2 were studio like. They were neatly kept, beds made each day by hotel staff. Ample hot water for showering. If you have 2 families travelling together you need to ask to be in a family cottage. These are 2 cottages attached in one building, with an adjoining inside door like in a motel. We were not fortunate enough to get one of these adjoining units. The air conditioning worked well, though there were loss of electricity problems a few times during the week, one of them causing loss of the cable TV channels. We had breakfast at the hotel restaurant one morning and it was good, but a bit pricey. The view of the beach and bay from the restaurant / bar area was incredible. The resort had ocean kayaks, swim masks, fins, etc. free for the checking out. It was a short 10 minute drive to Chrisianstead. We would stay here again if we ever go back to St. Croix.
There were many good restaurants between the resort and Christianstead. We ate at American Cheeseburger in Paradice (where some nights hey have crab races which are a total blast), Kims, Pickled Greek, a West Indian BarBQue buffet dinner/show at Diva Carina resort featuring a local dance group and stit walkers called Mocha Jombies. Deep End Bar and Grill, and the Palms at Pelican Cove. Pickled Greek was good, but quite expensive. We really loved the other restaurants, all a bit unique, but excellent food at reasonable prices. Groceries bought at Pueblo store just west of Christianstead. Groceries are VERY expensive compared to the states, so bring along your own items such as peanut butter, cereal, crackers, etc. and save some big bucks. St. Croix is the home of Cruzan rum. Pretty extensive price shopping showed Cruzan Rum at K-Mart was the cheapest, but Pueblo grocery store was next best. Budget Car Rental had the best prices we found. A buck Island trip is a must. The only way to get to Buck Island is on tour. We booked with Teroro II. They were FANTASTIC. The 1/2 day outing was plenty of time for an incredible snorkeling / beach adventure from a 42 TriMaran. Captain Carl was extremely knowledgable about the area, and very personable.

Great location, friendly staff,
Friendly staff and wonderful beach/bar/pool; however, daily maintenace service and general upkeep of grounds leaves room for much improvement. While drinks were well done, the food service (both preparation and service) was inconsistent.
