To help navigate the city, personal digital assistants with maps of Rome are available for rent. The rooftop terrace bar offers views of the ancient Roman ruins of the Baths of Diocletian, St Peter’s Basilica and the Vatican.
Insider tip: The Baths of Diocletian is the ancient world’s largest spa complex, covering over 13 hectares. Much like a full-service spa today, the Baths had dressing rooms, gyms, libraries, and conference rooms. It was surrounded by a garden and housed a stadium where athletic events were held. The Baths remained open from 306 until 537 when the Visigoths invaded Rome and closed the aqueducts.
