Extremely comfortable
The hotel is beautiful, the rooms were extremely comfortable. The hotel staf was extremely helpful with recomendations, and general information of the area.

Concierge
Our concierge at the front desk was extremely helpful. He knew Spanish, Italian, and English fluently and it came in handy when we needed reservations made at restaurants and we were describing the type of food we wanted. The housekeeping staff was punctual and made sure we had more than enough towels and other items to keep us satisfied. The safe in the room came in handy quite a bit when we wanted to store our passports and other items when we were out of the room. You can put your own pin number in the safe.
Traveler's tip on dining
Most of the nightlife seems to be closer to the water. Silken Gran Havana is quite a ways from the water, so it’s a decent walk or about a 10 minute taxi ride to any sort of night life. However, it is in a very safe area of town, so walking around the hotel itself at night is very safe.

Silken Gran Havana
The weekday staff was extremely helpful and friendly, however, when the new staff arrived for the weekend, they weren’t very warm. The room set up was wonderful for a family. The overall condition of the hotel is in need of updating. The entire hotel needs new carpeting and a paint job. Our room even had peeling paint and cracking walls. The pool was great after a day in the city, however, on the website it looks much larger than it really turns out ot be. It was extremely tiny. Next time I am in Barcelona I will pick a hotel that is nearer to the Gothic district. The location was ok, however, not close enought to the places I wanted to be all the time.
