World Class Skiing in Big Sky

This condo/hotel is only 9 years old. Built very well. No noise at night. Despite what others have said, the tempurature in the room is easily controlled with the thermostat and the computer controller key that is provided. The room could use a few more table lamps for reading. The kitchen is fully equipped. Shopping and restaurants are only steps away. The hotel eataries are OVER PRICED and food only average. The slopes are awesome - excellent skiing. No lift lines. Hardly anyone here. No need for a car unless you want to drive out of the village, just grab a Karst shuttle from Bozeman. The Summit also has a nice gym, large indoor hot tub and outdoor heated (HOT) pool.

Traveler's tip on recreational activities

Take the free mountain shuttle down to the Hungry Moose to go grocery shopping.

Big Sky’s Premier Hotel

Of the properties at the Big Sky Resort, The Summit Hotel provides the nicest atmosphere and highest quality of accomodations. The hotel is not what I would consider a 5-Star hotel, but it was a wonderful environment. The lighting in the room was poor, and the temperature was impossible to control. We basically turned the heater off and the room’s temperature was maintained at a comfortable level. We opened and closed the window to cool the room. Keep in mind that it snowed every day we were there. The skiing at Big Sky is unsurpassed. We were at the resort at the busiest time of year and never waited more than 5 minutes in a lift-line. We also took a snow-coach tour of Yellowstone National Park - spectacular. My family agreed, this was the best vacation we have ever had and we have travelled all around the world.

They have an extremely reasonably priced ski gear shop. We wished we had purchased all of our gear there, the price difference was negligible.

Perfect Location

The hotel was very nice. Bell staff, Concierge all very helpful. Since there are so few good restaurants in Big Sky they should think about opening a third in the hotel. My only complaint was the room was too warm. Slept with windows open which was noisy at 5:30 a.m. I read one review somewhere that the hotel "needed freshening". Couldn’t be further from the truth. You are really just steps from three lifts.Location, location, location

Traveler's tip on nightlife

There is no nightlife. You’d better like wild game or nachoes for dinner or you’ll be dissapointed. Hotel food was good but not great and on the pricey side. Location can’t be beat. Come for the skiing. Certainly not the food.
