Lovely Place to stay in Beautiful Tolo, Greece!
I stayed here with two friends on September 9, 2008. What a great place to stay! It was the off-season, so there were only a few other people staying there with us so it was very quiet. We had the apartment double room - it was a hotel room with a large living area with two day beds that also double as couches, a small dining table, a kitchenette and another room with two beds pushed together and a bathroom. Everything was neat and clean. Each room had its own air conditioner with remote control. The kitchenette was stocked with pots, pans, plates, a hot plate and utensils. There was a nice balcony that looked out onto the water - we were on the first floor, and I imagine the view would be even better from the second floor. There was an outdoor pool inside the courtyard that we swam in - the water was a bit cold but it was nice and refreshing. You can easily get to the main road in Tolo by climbing straight down the hill to the sea and there are a lot of shops and restaurants (I bought my dinner at the HellaStar supermarket and cooked it in the kitchen!). You can also access the beach this way. The person running the hotel was very nice and helpful and helped us figure out which buses we needed to take to get to Mycenae the next day. Breakfast was included, but because we had to leave very early in the morning we did not get to eat it. Tolo seemed like a charming little town and if I go back to Greece I will definitely return!
Traveler's tip
The hotel is a bit hard to find, its off of the main road in Tolo that on another road that veers off and goes up a hill. It is a pink building and we were confused at first because we went to the first entrance down the hill, but the main entrance is closer to the top of the hill. The easiest way to get there is take a taxi from Nafplio, have your driver help you find it. Find a pathway through the buildings on the main street to get to the beautiful beach.
