Had the best time
We were very pleased with our stay at the Hampton Inn. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. The beds are really comfortable and our room, on the 4th floor, was quiet. Breakfast was the best, the staff there prepared a different entre every morning and the buffet included many different choices. The hotel is a little at the end of the strip, but within walking distance to everything. We even walked up to the cemetery to see the graves of "Wild Bill." My only negative comment was the "slow elevator", seems we spent quite a bit of time waiting for it...and in the end used the stairs a lot. Would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay there again on another visit.
Traveler's tip on recreational activities
A must see in Deadwood is a trip to the cemetery to see the graves of Wild Bill Hickok and Clamity Jane. Its a good walk, mostly uphill, but there are also tours that go there. The reinactment of the shooting of Wild Bill done at a local bar and casino up the street is also well done and something to see. Also, the tour of the gold mine in Lead is quite interesting.

Very nice hotel
Very nice hotel, one of the better casinos in town, centrally located, however very close to road and therefore alot of road noise.
Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks
Drinks are free in the casino in youre playing the tables.

Great Time in Deadwood at Hampton Inn
We spent two nights at Deadwoods Hampton Inn in late April. The great off-season rates made the stay even better than it already was. The hotel is located at the end of Main Street in Deadwood with the Four Aces Casino located on the ground floor. The people at the hotel (and in all of Deadwood) were friendly and helpful in every way. We were a little worried after reading about parking problems in the town, but in April, that was not a problem. We were able to find free parking in the hotels lot right across the street. If we visit at a busier time of year, I think well take advantage of the $5 valet parking. Deadwood is a wonderful place for a short visit, and the Hampton Inn is a good choice for a place to stay.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
If you want to visit Mt. Moriah Cemetery in Deadwood, plan to use your car. Although it looks close to other attractions on the map, it is steeply uphill.
