Very good customer service, would definitely go back!
Didn’t know when I reserved the hotel that it was a hostile, but was very impressed with the treatment by the hotel personnel. Rooms were cleaned daily and the help was always gracious and willing to help. The hotel offered tours and great advice. Would definitely stay at the Mithila again!

Don’t be put off by the neighborhood or the fact that the hotel is a hostile. Location is convienient and close to public transit.

Mithila gives bang for your back. I wish they had better breakfast and toiletries though.

thin walls and noisy neighbors
there were loud people up and down the hall and the thin walls made them seem extra noisy. the comforters on the bed seemed rather old. the so-called continental breakfast consisted of tiny muffins and regular plain coffee. one of the cheapest hotels near Union Square, but cheap for a reason.

it’s an easy walk from this hotel to Union Square, cable car turnaround at Powell Street, and public transportation like BART and Muni.
