Good hotel, good price

Very clean, comfortable and large rooms for New York. Good midtown location for tourists and business travelers. A little dated, but overall a great hotel for the price.

Impersonal and cold service

Very noisy at nights in rooms, due to tourist groups - quite a few, having a good time. Impersonal service probably due to these groups that must be treated like misbehaved highschool kids: stay in line, silence please, sit here, etc. We never received a considerate, polite or helpful comment from the staff, considering we were three senior ladies comming from Chile...and staying for a week. The hotel restaurant was closed at night, so we have to choose between room service or a dark, crowded bar for supper.

Room Comfort

The air conditioner was not working and the room was very uncomfortable for sleeping. Only stayed one night so did not report problem until the morning of checkout. If not for this, the Warwick was a very nice place to stay and I would consider it again.

New York’s Finest

I enjoyed the hotel stay, there were a few problems with water pressure concerning the bathroom. I reserved a room with 2 double beds and they gave us a room w/ a King size bed; I would have preferred an upgrade to a suite. Since, they gave our room away. The staff was wonderful and the hotel over all was beautiful.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Its always good to have a plan. There is so much to do and to enjoy it. Have an idea where you want to go first. There is always time to shop as you are sight seeing; the best shopping Madison and Fifth. A must to do dine at Rockerfeller Center, taste, price, and portions were perfect.

central location to it all...great location....traditional charm.

Hotlel staff was very friendly. The location of this Historic treasure is 3 blocks from Central Park and with in walking distance to a vast majority of sights (if in good health and you like to walk)Moma,Radio City Hall,Times Square etc.The only issue was that the elevators are a little slow due to lots of people using them.. Will go back no question about it.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

Breakfast at Hotel is $24 per person, great variety but we went out to local places and got breakfast and it saved a few bucks. Take the subway to further away sites it is pretty easy to use, clean and saves money..taxis’ can be expensive.

Large comfortable room.

We had an excellent room and the hotel is great, but our room was on the backside light well with little light -- try to get a room on the outside of the hotel.

Great location & price but needs improvement

The staff was good, the location excellent and the price was good, but the hotel rooms need some re-furbishing. I liked the old-fashioned style and the room was large by NYC standards. However, the carpet was stained and really needed to be re-done.

Convenient Location

Nicely furnished and comfortable room, but tiny bathroom that was the size of a closet. Travelers should note this when checking into the hotel and request a reasonably sized bathroom.

Really liked the hotel and location in the city.

This hotel was in a great location, fairly quiet, unpretentious, and very comfortable. The staff was helpful and the room was good. We would go back again without hesitation.

Great Room

Large, comfortable room and excellent service. No doubt we will stay there again!

Traveler's tip on dining

Connolly’s Irish Pub 2 doors down has an excellent variety of beer on tap and good, reasonably priced food.

Luxury hotel in the heart of Manhattan

This was a great hotel for many reasons - it was very comfortable, the lobby service (bellhops and concierge) were always friendly and helpful, it was very close to: a subway entrance, the MoMA, Central Park, and great dining. My boyfriend and I rented a deluxe room for extra$ which was very large - a king size bed, a love seat & coffee table, a desk, plus it was a corner room with two views of the street. The bathroom, however, was smaller than my closet at home! No bath, just a shower, no fan so the room steamed up with every shower, and the tiles in the shower had mildew in the cracks. Plus, when I was checking the room to leave I lifted up the dust ruffle on the loveseat and found a theater ticket from October 2008 (we visited in May 2009). I don’t know when the loveseat was vacuumed under last! The Murals restaurant had a good sized buffet breakfast that you could charge to your room, which we enjoyed once but I wouldn’t eat at again. There are plenty of restaurants with a much wider variety close by that are much less expensive. All in all, a lovely place to stay that felt like a real treat since I usually stay in HolidyInns and the like. I loved the location and thought it was a fantastic deal.

Great hotel

I was pleasantly surprised with this hotel. The deluxe room was decorated well and comfortable. The best part was the hotel’s location. It was just a few blocks from the park and numerous restaurants. I will definitely use this hotel again.

Excellent location, historic hotel

I highly recommend this historic hotel, which was developed by William Randolph Hearst. The Warwick has a great location, in the middle of midtown Manhattan (across the street from the Moma), two streets from Central Park, one block from 5th Ave, and a few streets from Rockefeller Plaza). The service is excellent. The rooms are always extremely clean. The breakfast at Murals on 54th is very good (though pricey).

Disappointed

We requested an early check in (1-1:30 PM) due to an afternoon graduation ceremony we were attending. We were told this request would probably be okay. When we checked into the hotel, our King bedroom was not available. We were given a bedroom with 2 double beds. The room had windows that were blocked by the building next door, making the room very dark. The hotel receptionist checking us in was not very accommodating despite our written request. Paying extra each day for internet service seemed excessive.

Nice Boutique hotel in Midtown, close to Broadway

The highlight is definitely the wall decoration in the breakfast room. Find someone to explain the background and details. Otherwise, we found this to be an efficient, clean, and friendly hotel desirably close to the theatre district and across the Museum for Modern Art. We had a very quiet room looking into four high walls on the backside. A great plus: one can open the windows a smidgeon. We found the price for Sunday brunch a bit high: $45.00 a person.

Good location

The hotel is in a great location, close to everything. The only negative I saw was that the elevators are very small, and our room was facing an alley. But other than that the hotel is very clean and the staff is very helpful. We had noisy neighbors and they took care of it very quickly.
