Good deal for the money. The place has its own character.

Hotel was attractive for the price and location but definitely needs some renovation. Generally everything was acceptable specially if you not staying in the room all day. From other side we like the filling of age and traditionalism I am personally tired of same look Holiday or Comfort or whatsoever Inns with Mr.Patel on front desk.

A wonderful experience, We will be going back!

This Hotel has a great location for doing pretty much all you’d want to do at niagara falls. Its right at the top of cliffton hill and about a 15 minute walk to get an amazing view of the falls. The parking was cheap in comparison to what you’d be paying at an actual parking lot and I didn’t use my vehicle once to get around. The staff is friendly and professional and very familiar with the area. We were very surprised with how big the room was and how it had so many extras we didn’t even ask for. a living area, dining area, mini fridge, safe, and microwave. I was thinking i’d have to pay extra for these things but they were there for us.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Plan out what you think you’re going to want to do ahead of time if you’re planning on doing the attractions at cliffton hill. There are many discount passes you can purchase for around 30$ to do 6 attractions where as if you did them all separate they’d be 8-15$ each. Just to save yourself some money. Nightmares haunted house is the best i’ve been to in that area!

Excellent location

We had a lovely clean room with a view of the falls. All staff was extremely helpful and pleasant. It was an easy walk to Falls and most tourist attractions. On location tour sales very convenient.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Don’t miss Niagra on the Lake. An upscale tourist area of small shops with one of a kind items and cozy restaurants.

room was satisfactory and had a great location for sightseeing

We found out too late that we could have gotten a half day trip to a couple of the wineries. There was tour informataion desk right in the hotel lobby but no one told us about it. We found out the day of our departure..too late to enjoy a winery tour and the ice wine that they are famous for. (we did get a couple of bottles to take home from the local liquor store.)

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Walking distance to most of the local sights, restaurants and transportation.

End of Summer 2009

We enjoyed our stay in Niagra Falls and our stay at the Imperial Hotel. If you’re looking for a location that is convenient to the falls and some of the shops, it’s perfect. The room was quiet and large enough to accommodate our family of 6 (although the sofa bed was really only comfortable for one, so we requested a cot for greater comfort). The room had plenty of space for all of us and our stuff. Having the sink outside the bathroom was great. The pool was nice, and there was a coin operated laundry room in the basement that was convenient. It was clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The only complaint (that we found in several places in Canada) is that beverages are extra. We got breakfast for two, so that we had vouchers for two each morning, but had to pay for any juice or coffee. It was very expensive for additional family members to eat. Otherwise, we would definitely stay at the Imperial again. It was a great value for the room price!

If you get the breakfasts, make sure you know that you’ll be paying for the drinks. If not, it was convenient for us to bring cereal along on the trip, or go to a local cheaper place for breakfast.

Pleasantly Surprised

The Imperial is located in the Clifton Hill area with many choices of restaurants while being close to the falls. Our family would stay there again.

Wear comfortable shoes. Even though the hotel is close to the falls, the street is much more elevated than the area where the falls are located. Clifton Hill is adequately named....you will get tired of walking up (and down) the street.

Perfect Location

We stayed at the Imperial Hotel 8/21 - 8/24/09 and the rooms were comfortable, clean and the staff helpful. Had a smoke free room with everything we needed (refrig., safe, coffee machine). The pool/weight room was easy to access and clean. Buffet breakfast ($9.99) available downstairs. The hotel charges $5.00 per night for parking but my understanding is this is a standard practice with hotels in this area. The parking fee is worth it considering the attractions in the immediate area. I plan on booking this hotel in the future.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

It’s an easy walk to the falls (10-12 min.)and Clifton Hill is full of activities for all ages(approx. one block from hotel).

Excellent time

All of the employees were professional and extremely helpful with directions to locations and calling a cab for us.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Must visit Cliffton Street in Niagra falls. There is every activity you can think of to partake of on that street.

Disappointed

One noticeable problem with the hotel was the smell. It permiated all areas. We signed on to have breakfast at an additional charge and the food was terrible. We never went back to breakfast there even though it had been paid for. The beds were made up daily, but used sheets and towels were left in a pile in the room. It was quiet in the room which is a plus considering it’s location, which is very touristy and tacky. Overall, we were very disappointed and would not advise staying there.

Nice place to stay

Nice hotel, very friendly and helpful staff. Lovely restaurant connected to the hotel, and very close (maybe 10 minute walk) to the falls. Not the classiest place in the world, but ok value for the money. Only complaint was that the interior hallways were very hot and stuffy, but that was easy to overlook.

Nice place to stay

Very nice place to stay. Right in the middle of the action. Great restaurants all around the area... with that said, we DO NOT recommend the restaurant attached directly to the hotel! There are plenty of other options for breakfast that will be cleaner and offer better service. Loved our trip and would definitely stay there again if/when we come back.

Great for the budget

Great location, but you’ll have to walk up and down the big Clifton Hill to get to the falls. Staff was responsive if not overly personable, perfect for budget travelers who just want a clean room. FYI - no shampoo, lotion provided, just coffee, soap and towels.

Close to attractions - OK

Hotel is central enough - right on main blvd. short walk to falls. Hotel in old and needs some attention.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

watch out for foreign transaction fee on credit card. i had heard it was better to pay with cc, but they charged me for each conversion.

Would never return for another visit.

This was a three star hotel which led me to believe it would be suitable to sleep in. The hotel had an offensive odor, was smoky in the hall, not clean, and there was not one towel rack in the bathroom. I had reservations for two nights but I only stayed one night. I was most uncomfortable...could not wait to leave that place.

Beds hard as rocks

The hotel had all of the amenities listed and would have been fine EXCEPT the beds were as hard as rocks and none of my family members slept well. It is nice to have wireless internet and 2 new tv’s but the beds were really hold and really hard. When you go to a hotel what you want primarily is to sleep well and none of us did. This hotel was listed as 3 stars because of the amenities. I have slept better on the floor with an air mattress and sleeping bag.

So So

The room was adequate, clean enough, the air conditioning unit was next to the couch where my son’s cot was set up (only space available for this) which made it extremely cold in that part of the room, but it was very warm on the other side of the room- poor ventilation set up. The pool water temp is nice, but water was on the slimy side- in need of shock and chlorine treatment- good value and location but certainly not luxurious

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

Food is very expensive take advantage of fast food for breakfast/ buy milk and cereal (hotel has fridge) for your room. Make sandwiches in room for lunch to save money for dinner- expect to pay twice as much for just about everything- it’s a tourist attraction, merchants take advantage of that fact. If using USD, use your credit card, the credit card co. will automatically make conversion but if you pay USD cash, all merchants will claim the ratio is 1:1 (which it is not) and overcharge you

Great Location

We stayed one week in this hotel in June. Great location. You could walk to see both falls in 5 to 10 minutes and cross to the American side in 15 minutes. A lot of restaurants and cafes near the hotel. The hotel restaurant was clean and the breakfast was good. Rooms are spacious.

Traveler's tip

Expensive destination. Fallsview Indoor Water Park and Marine Lann Amusement Park great for kids

Reasonable hotel close to the action

This hotel is located on the strip of Victoria Ave. nearby many restaurants and attractions. The Canadian views of the falls, as well as the casino, are just a 10-15 minute walk away.

We hated Our Stay in this Hotel

We went to Niagara for our vacation on July 2, 2009. We stayed in Imperial Hotel. The bathroom and the sink were clogged. We had somebody went to fix it. I am sure they already knew what is going on with their hotel since I presume every hotel has maintenance or do they? The night I used the bathroom I had to wake my husband up because the kids used the bathroom and it was overflowing. We kept calling the front dest but no one came. I have to go downstairs to use the bathroom. I wish I never chose to stay in this hotel. I was so upset and checked out early.
