Great service, mediocre food

I would recommend this hotel for the service and beauty. The food was mediocre and there aren’t that many options without leaving the resort.

In the times o the storm

When we got there we were told not to get in the water because a hurricane was coming in! Just what you want to hear on your vacation! At the end it was just a storm and it all turned out good the sun was out enough to get a suntan at the pool, the service was great we always had a drink in hand everywhere we went. The entertainment was good while we had to stay in ’cause of the rain. The buffets were good also, overall a good relaxing vacation.

Make sure you check the weather ahead of time!!

Have been there twice

When a family of 11 goes on vacation, "all inclusive" is the way to go. We have gone twice now. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean. The pool area is beautiful. Food in the restaurants is great, food in the buffets is usually very good, an occasional miss occurs. It is about half way from airport to "downtown" Cabo, so it is way less crowded and busy. Hotel provides cheap shuttles into town, but basically we didn’t leave the hotel more than once. All in all a great place, that we would definitely return to. One Caveat- they will attempt to push the vacation package buy in......... Other than that, love the place!

really enjoyed our stay

We went in September and although it was rather hot, we thought the resorts services were excellent and the staff very friendly. The food was good and there was a good variety. overall we had a pleasant stay.

Disappointed

When we checked into the hotel there was no power. It did not turn back on until a few hours later. The room had a bad smell the entire time we stayed there. It smelled very musty & never went away. The a/c wouldn’t stay on, therefore we weould have to wake up in the middle of the night to turn it on, otherwise the room would get hot. My mom lives in Cabo, but we like to stay at a hotel at least 1 night night when we go visit her in order to get more of a vacation feel. I have stayed at a different hotel 3 visits in a row and have been completely satisfied. I should never have tried a new hotel, as staying at Royal Solaris was a disappointment.

I visit the area a lot and have tried many restaurants/bars: go to Baja Brewing Co. in San Jose (downtown)- Great beer!

Can’t wait to go back

My stay in this hotel was excellent. I have nothing to complain about. The whole staff were very attentive with everything. The entertainment staff was wonderful. The food varied every day. I really don’t have anything to complain about except that you’re not able to swim in the beach.

Best vacation ever! We had a lot of fun!

The Hotel is very clean. The staff has been friendly and helpful. The beach is breathtaking and the water was to our surprise very warm. Careful at the beach! There is a strong undertow but my son and I liked it, we just did not swim out to far and there is always a hotel security looking out for you. We had a blast! Would definitely stay there again.

Traveler's tip on recreational activities

The surfing lessons were fun and so was the city/ snorkeling tour. We just had a little trouble with my son’s snorkel gear, make sure you check it before you swim away from the boat.

Wouldnt go back but pleased nonetheless

The hotel was clean, food was fine and some of the staff members were curteous. The pool however, should have had some temperature control because it got too hot. It also could have been cleaner. Overall, could place to stay for an inexpensive price. Oh and there was no fun nightlife whatsoever. They should incorporate a club in that hotel. That would make it great.

Beautiful hotel with exellent service!

This hotel was beautiful, clean, and very well-maintained... The staff was great and always very accomidating... Would recommend to anyone and can’t wait to go back...!

great place to stay

The food is great you must go to marco polo for dinner. The service is great its very clean and there very friendly. Great place to stay loved it will go back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Would Love to Go Back and Buy a Time Share

I booked this hotel on expedia not really know what to expect. The hotel turned out to be absolutely beautiful. I wish I would have upgraded our room upon checkin to have a full ocean view. We thought the food was fresh and very tasty enough the buffets. I like the fact you could make unlimited dinner reservations at the al a carte restaurants. We did not have problems finding a place to sit at the pool. But, I do like to get up early to enjoy breakfast on the veranda. The waiters were exceptional, I loved them all. Our Room was very clean and sheets were changed daily! Nice! I will be back next year!!

I had never been to the Cabo airport. I felt confused by all the people trying to sell timeshares as you have to go through 2 separate doors to ge to the transportaion are outside. Tip, keep walking don’t stop to talk!!!! Next time I will keep walking through the doors. It was easy to find our hotel transportation once outside.

Needs new beds

Rooms were very clean and nice. However, the beds were like sleeping on plywood - extremely hard! Breakfast here is great! Meals are good, just have to be sure to be right on time for RSVP’ing if needed each morning. That is kind of annoying. This hotel is a "membership" place, so you will get asked to sit through their 90 minute presentation, but you’ll get something free for it. Wasn’t a big deal and worth the free stuff. Overall, I would recommend the hotel. Especially if you have toddler age kids, their kids pool is really nice. Was happy that they really stick to making sure it’s adults only in the adult pool. Very relaxing.

Traveler's tip

You are 25 minutes from Cabo and 5 minutes from San Jose. Be sure to keep in mind if you plan to go to Cabo alot. Hotel does offer a shuttle at a decent price or you can take the local bus.

Wonderful

Beds were hard, but that was expected, rooms very clean! Staff very helpful, and the food was great! Only thing is to make sure you know the schedule of the restraunts for your stay there was one night we ended up having to order room service. There were a ton of familys so I might not recommend it for a honeymoon without kids (what we went for) but awesome family vacation! Last thing was there are a ton of vendors everywhere...

Don’t take taxi’s unless you have a group, ride the bus! Don’t forget that the sales people all barter!

Everyone seemed generally interested in service at all times. Food, drinks, and all needs where available in some part of the hotel at all times.

Traveler's tip

Get your towels on a poolside chair early in the morning to reserve a decent poolside seat. Recommend the italian restraunt over the mexican, even though you are in mexico. Buy all necessities in town rather than at expensive store in resort.

I really enjoyed the hotel...I thought the hotel was extremely beautiful...Everyone was so pleasant...Very family orientated...I was able to watch 2 complimentary Latin shows...which were fun...I would definitely return here again!

Cant miss the arch! in cabo san lucas and the divorce and love beach. The cuadrimotos in Candelaria is a nice ride too!

The best vacation, but a few tips.

My boyfriend and I had a wonderful time on our vacation to Los Cabos. The Royal Solaris was beautiful. The food was delicious and there was entertainment every night. We are already planning our trip back. The only thing we were a little surprised and put off by was the fact that there was a time share company stationed in the resort that tried to get you to buy EVERYTHING under the sun. They start by pressuring you to buy day trip excursions and even time shares. If you aren’t interested you have to be firm and clear that you aren’t; then they back off.

Do not talk to anyone at the air port unless they are from your hotel or a taxi driver. Do not talk to anyone until you see the sun outside. Many companies are stationed outside of customs to try to get you to commit to whatever they may be selling.

Can’t wait to go back!

This is our 3rd time at the hotel. We know the place really well and we know Cabo San Lucas. Very good customer service and the hotel is very clean and the food is superb!

We took the hotel’s shuttle and only cost us $12.50 each round trip. They dropped us off the large indoor mall in San Lucas a 10am and picked us up at 3:30pm. That was enough time to do a tour to Los Arcos and some shopping. To save you money, go to the Marina and there will be several people trying to give you a good deal on tours. You can bargian the price with them unlike the tours office at the hotel.

Call it a some-inclusive resort

We’ve stayed at other all-inclusive resorts, but this one’s just plain cheap! Poor quality alcohol, no mini-bar, extra charges at dinner if you want Shrimp, steak or a bottle of wine! If you want to lie by the pool, don’t count on relaxing, they start on the microphone at 10a with stretching and then at 11a it is Bingo, followed by Water Aerobics at 12n, then Mexican Trivia - it goes on and on... constant barrage of noise. They claim to have 5 restaurants; however there is only 2 open for dinner with a choice of "Mexican" or "Italian" and only 1 for Bfast and 1 for lunch. If you want room service there’s an additional charge. Check-in for our stay was a nightmare! We were greeted by the "personal assistant" for our stay but really she just wanted to sell time share - my husband politely declined her offer of breakfast to chat & she simply would not take "NO" for an answer to the point where she was literally begging us. My husbands job requires him to be in meetings every day - so on vacation (that we are paying for), he didn’t want to spend 90 minutes listening to someone sell him something. He ended up so upset and then she started on me & asked me to get him to change his mind! We were so mad, we almost left then and there. On the up side - the waterpark that they have for the kids is fabulous!

Excellent service

My family and I enjoyed our stay at this hotel so much that we are planning on going back next year. This was our second time going. Great service from the whole staff. Good food and good location.

Very nice resort, but would not stay there again

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 7 nights to celebrate his college graduation. We were expecting some sort of night life in the lobby bar at the resort (like i have found at other Mexican resorts) but there was none of that here. Our room was nice, the walls could have been thicker because we could sometimes hear our neighbors. The staff by the pool was great! Tip them a few bucks in the morning and they keep bringing you drinks all day long. On the other hand, the staff at the front desk was VERY rude and not helpful. We were not given the partial ocean view that we were told we would get upon booking and when we asked about it they said we would have to pay an extra $30 per NIGHT to get what we already had paid for. We decided it wasnt worth the money and stayed where we were. The food got to be a little old after while, but thats what you get with an all inclusive. Beautiful beach, but the vendors are very pushy when selling their stuff. Top shelf drinks would have been nice but you wont find that here. We had to buy our own bottle of Absolute vodka versus drinking their crappy one. Overall good place, but the front desk staff really ruined it for me, I would not stay here again or recommend other people to stay here.

Its a $70 cab ride to get into Cabo and it is NOT worth it. The town was ugly and people were so pushy about trying to sell you stuff, it got really annoying.

Not bad

The hotel was a very good value. Be sure to make reservations for the restaurants at night. All of the waitstaff were very nice and helpful. The beach and pool area were both nice.
