General Information
What to expect: Designed to look like a Mediterranean villa, the nine-story hotel is a colorful mixture of safari themes, designer touches, and Mediterranean style. The lobby area, which includes full-length windows overlooking an outdoor fountain, has a decidedly hip 1960s theme, with a gas fireplace and red-velvet couches, faux-fur throw pillows, and shelves of gorgeous vases and antiquities. |

Amenity highlights: This colorful boutique hotel is within a 20-minute drive of most of the South Bay's tourist attractions, from Paramount's Great America park (6 miles) to Stanford University (12 miles), as well as most major business centers. The Mediterranean-style restaurant offers an exhibition kitchen and an outdoor patio that overlooks a small, grassy park. The 24-hour fitness center has an array of cardio equipment, and each machine has its own TV and remote control.
Insider tip: The hotel is six miles from the Bay Area's biggest concert venue—Shoreline Amphitheatre at Mountain View. The outdoor facility hosts top-name talent during warmer months, usually May–October. Many of Shoreline's top performers stay at the Cypress.
