Great location

Very nice hotel with a helpful staff. Views were great as our window opened to the piazza in front of the Pantheon. Bathroom was better than most others I have had in Italy.

Very Satisfied Customer

We loved our stay at Sole al Pantheon. We loved how old the hotel is but still in great condition. Our room was nice and clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was wonderful, something different everyday. When the internet in our room wasn’t working they immediately worked to fix problem. The hotel is also in an excellent location. It is a 15 minute walk from a lot of the main sites. We loved that it was right outside the Pantheon. We recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a good place to stay. We had a great experience on our trip.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

If you are staying in Rome several days I would buy the Roma Pass. It gets you into the Coliseum and the Roman Forum without having to wait in the long lines. You also get discounts to other places and a pass to use the subway & buses, which helps This also helps you bypass the lines and you get an audio guide so you can go at your own pace.you get around when you are tired of walking. You can purchase it at a tourist/information booth.

PERFECTO!

If you want the romantic feel of Rome, this is the hotel for you. You do not lose the sense of history with the beautiful and tasteful renovations that have been done at this 15C hotel. When we entered room 206, opened the double pane windows and pushed out the old wooden shutters,we fell immediately in love with the piazza and our home for the next 7 nights. The Pantheon to our left, the fountain in front of us, the many outdoor cafe/restaurants, people and activity and in the evening we fell asleep to an opera singer. The staff cannot do enough for you. Natalia, Leonardo, Dante, Anna and the people whose names I did not get - like the great maid you managed to straighten up our room every time we left. I don’t know how she did it. Location is within walking distance to all sites - Trevi, St. Peters, Spanish Steps, Forum, Colosseum. You’ll love it!

Traveler's tip on dining

We ate four times at L’Arcano via del Pastini and also in the Piazza Navona at Domizianos.

A fine hotel

The location cannot be beat, and the hotel is very charming. Nearly all of the staff was very friendly and outgoing and were helpful in making reservations at restaurants and museums. Excellent breakfast (except that coffee was weak-not common in Italy!) - Overall a really nice place to stay- will definitely consider a return.

Traveler's tip on dining

A wonderful restaurant a few blocks from the Pantheon is the Archimede- San Eustachio on the Piazza San Eustachio. everything was excellent, great service, fine wine list of local regional wines, too.

Very Highly Recommended

This is the first time I have ever taken the time to write a review, but Sole al Pantheon was so good I couldnt resist. Fabulous location overlooking the Piazza and the Pantheon, the square and restaurants alive with locals and tourists alike until the early hours (so not so good if you like silence). Apparently one of the oldest hotels in the world dating back to the 15th Century, but fully modernized with a/c systems in the room, modern marble bathroom facilities and electronic entry. Huge breakfast selection considering such a small hotel. Highly recommended.

Traveler's tip on dining

Ignore their tip for a lunch place (must be his brothers place...). The restaurant out the door and 50 yards to the right is excellent.

Wonderful Hotel

Just returned from a 4 night stay & I can’t say enough nice things about this hotel. The location is perfect for soaking up the atmosphere of Rome. We had a twin bedded room which was small, but definitly not cramped, and it was very clean. The front desk staff were extremely friendly & helpful & the European buffet breakfasts were delicious. If you’re looking for a large modern chain hotel this is not the one for you, but if you’re looking for charming atmosphere & convenient location as well as comfort, this hotel is a real find

Location, location, location.....

There were four of us so we stayed directly across from the Pantheon. They make postcards of the view from our window - literally. AC & hot water was challenged on hot days, but everything was easily overlooked by the view and location. Coloseum was a bit of a walk but Trevi, Spanish steps, Vatican City, great restaurants, gelato and squares were everywhere.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Get up early and go. Take a nap later. Enjoy the night with great food and wine.
