Good Hotel, But What’s Up With Bussing The Breakfast Bar?
My wife and I spent a night at the Hyatt Place near RDU in July 2009. The hotel has an upscale feeling interior. The room was well laid out with sectional seating, a serviceable desk, a comfortable bed and an enormous TV. Both the room and the overall facility appeared clean. Our stay would have been a perfect except for one odd tidbit. The breakfast bar was available until 10:00 AM on the nose. At 10:00 the staff started tearing the place down like a group of roadies after a rock concert. 10:03 AM and the counters were cleared down to the marble. My wife and I already had our food and thus I’m not complaining from the perspective of getting there to late to eat. Rather, the frenzied approach to removing the bar components detracted from an otherwise leisurely Sunday morning. A man behind us couldn’t even get a top for his coffee cup because they had put everything away so quickly (and without any kind of warning). All the guests in the place were looking at each other and shrugging / smirking / shaking their heads at the process. To be clear this didn’t really detract from my stay other than the fact that it is difficult to enjoy your food when it feels like vultures are waiting to pick the place clean. I doubt that is the impression they Hyatt wanted us to remember. Fortunately, in all other aspects this was a good, clean hotel in a safe area with a nice feel.

raliegh’s best airport hotel!
From the moment I walked in to the very stylish modern interior, I knew that Hyatt knows what they are doing. After being checked in by the very professional front desk attendant, I moved on to my room, and let me say, "this room was very large for a standard room!" Sectional sofa seating area with pull out queen sleeper, two double beds, and 42 inch plasma on the wall. The room went along with the modern decor as the reat of the hotel. No disappointments!
