Great value in the off-season
We stayed at the Peaks for the first on our honeymoon in mid-September. While the hotel is a bit slow and there are many repairs and property improvements going on that time of year, the staff was friendly and laid back. The price that time of year is terrific for this caliber of hotel, and they didnt charge us the supposedly mandatory "resort fee." Make sure to keep in mind that if you have a car, valet parking is required. The location of the resort is ideal on the mountain and the views from any room are spectacular. If you have the chance to indulge in a spa treatment or two at the Golden Door (connected to the hotel), you will not be sorry. It is a very nice spa and the services are top notch. We have talked about going back on a regular basis for our anniversary.
Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks
Going to the mountains of Colorado in the off season is a great way to hike & bike when its not as hot, see the aspen leaves change colors, and explore quaint mountain towns without all the tourists.

great place, nice staff,
nice pool too. Didnt know about the building work going on before we came. Slightly odd that the bath was boarded up - youd expect a bath in the room at that price. But these are minor quibbles, and didnt spoil things much. Fantastic views across to the mountains beyond the golf course too.

Rude employees, under construction, 4 hour check in, no thank you.
We were bombarded by valet when we arrived. Not in a good way, in a pushy tip grubbing way. At the front desk we were asked to sign a check out waiver before we were told our room wouldnt be ready for another 4 hours! This is for a 7 week in advance honey moon reservation. The place was under construction and smelled awful. I was looking forward to this and was sorely disappointed. Try the Cappella across the street if you need Telluride/ Mtn Village accommodations. They will treat you right.
Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay
Stay at the Cappella, worth every penny. Have breakfast at Maggies in town, and save a fortune on room service. Dont argue with maggie.
