Sofitel - nice, but not luxury
the hotel bar and restaurant are great, the room is nice, a little small and would say it is a 4 star, not a 5 star place

The Best in Montreal
We have just come back from a wonderful vacation in Montreal. We were fortunate to stay at the fantastic Sofitel Motreal Golden Mile. If you want service that is outstanding, this is the place to stay. The staff is friendly, welcoming, helpful, and efficient. The hotel itself is beautiful and comfortable. The location is perfect: close to great shopping, terrific restaurants, outstanding museums, and the efficient, easy to use Metro. Renoir was a beautiful, high quality restraurant and the bar was a wonderful place to unwind after a busy day of siteseeing.
Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay
Make friends with the bellman and the concierge for excellent tips on restaurants and the best way to get somewhere. Although it is listed in the "very expensive" category in tour books, the Sofitel is worth every penny.

Montreal Gem
Great hotel, great location, room was excellent, staff was friendly and very helpful. Only complaint is the lack of free in-room internet.

Enjoyable Stay
We enjoyed our stay very much. We had a great view of Mount Royal. The concierge service was most helpful. Before making the reservation we would like to have known the price of parking there.

this hotel is situated in an excellent location - it is in the center of everything. Rooms are nicely decorated and modern, although a bit small and very tight.

Very nice hotel with great service
It was my first time to Montreal and this hotel was a great place to stay. It’s close to restaurants, the metro, and reasonable cab fare to other nearby attractions. Hotel staff was very friendly, responsive and accomodating. Rooms and bathrooms are very nice and comfortable. I highly recommend this hotel.

Wife Loved It!
Great hotel, sevice was great staff was very freindly bathrooms great, and my wife who is extremely picky loved the Hotel. The only problem she had were some mark on the carpet next to the nitestand. Believe me she inspector 12 and she does not miss a thing. 5 star with a 3.5 to 4 star price.

Outstanding Hotel and Great Value
This is a 5 star experience for 2-3 star price. The room was large and well appointed. Great bathroom with tub and separate shower. The restaurant and bar had amazing food. Service was excellent. Great location. Only negative was gym was small and did not have much equipment. Ask for higher floor room to escape outside traffic noise.

Modern and nice hotel
Went for a bachelor party with about 11 other late 20’s early 30 year olds. Great hotel, nice, good amenities, close enough to the "party streets" to walk, and banks right across the street for forex situations. No free internet in rooms and extremely small double beds prevented me from giving the hotel a 5. Clean, modern looking, stylish and very nice though!

A quality Hotel
The hotel was what you’d expect from a 4+ star hotel. Friendly hotel staff and a very clean all around. Excercise room could have been bigger :-) but all in all a great place. I’m glad I chose it.

One of the best in the city
I would highly recommend the Sofitel Montreal to anyone travelling to this great city. It is centrally located close to all of the nice downtown attractions and is extremely comfortabe and well run. The breakfast/brunch in the hotel restaurant is one of the best in the city as well. Rooms are very clean and well maintained. The prices vary quite a bit depending on your date of travel, but if you can get a rate that works for you, then I would definintley stay here!

Eat breakfast here. Their scrambled eggs are the best I’ve ever had. Garcon across the street is a great place for dinner. Amazing wine list and outstanding food.

Nice room but a little small
Had a superior room,nicely decorated but was a little on the small side. Door opened right into the room and practically right onto the bed. No entry way like most hotel rooms have. Bed was extremely comfortable and bathroom and shower were lovely. Overall, service was excellent, there was a problem with the televison at check in and in a matter of minutes after calling the front desk, a repairman was at the door to fix it. Chose the hotel based upon other expedia reviews and wasn’t disappointed. Only thing I would do differently is probably go for the larger deluxe room the next time.

Great hotel, great city
We definitely chose well for our first trip to Montreal. The hotel is in a great downtown location-lots of restaurants and shopping right there. The room was beautiful and well kept. The room service was delicious, and the staff was helpful. We would happily go back!
