Relaxing Time

My husband and I had a very relaxing time at the Island Oasis. The staff was very friendly, room was clean. We could always go back to our room or sit in the pool and hang out when it got too hot. The trip was well worth it.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Do a little research on things to do and places to visit before you go. I did this and it made the trip so much more worth it knowing places that we would never have found without knowing ahead of time. We went to dinner at Louie’s Backyard, the view is to die for. It was a little pricey, but it was definitely well worth it.

Very satisfied, great location, excellent staff - Will be back!!

This was anniversary vacation & our first trip to the Keys, could not have been more pleased. Great location, quiet & peaceful. The standard room was more of a bedroom size, but it was perfect for what time we were there. Lea was a great help, very attentive. Within walking distance to the everything (helps the whole area is 2x4!?!), especially only 2-3 blocks from the beach. Highly recommended & look forward to our next trip. Thanks!

Truly an Island Oasis!

Terrific place to stay. Nestled in among the tropical palms, just off the main drag, but close enough to get to anything you wanted to see or do. Loved the stay there.

Nice, family run hotel at the Southmost Point

This small hotel, run by a family, was built in 1939 by an engineer. The staff is very friendly and you can eat your breakfast in a tiny tropical garden. The hotel is right at the Southmost Point and the Duval Street can be easily reached on foot. Because the hotel is in a "normal" house, the rooms are rather small.

Quiet and close to the action

We stayed in one of the outside cottages (pelican?), and thought it was great. Good size for being close to the action. We had our own porch w/chairs and entrance to outside. At quiet end of Duval, so a little more walking, but very quiet at night. Would deff. stay here again.

Traveler's tip on recreational activities

We were able to camp at the Dry Tortugas for 2 nights, highly recommended. Also make sure you get bikes for town. We didn’t this time, but deff. will if we return.

Room for improvement

The location and overall condition of the B & B were good. The host was friendly and informative. Our concerns our in the area of room cleanliness. The room was not serviced on a regular basis. We would not consider staying at this location again.

Very Quiet

Hotel was very nice. Stayed in a private cabin off of the main house. Well worth the extra few dollars a night. This hotel is 400 yards from the Southernmost Point bouy. The only negative was the mile walk to the busy part of Duval. The peacefulness of the hotel was worth it. Would definitly stay at this hotel again.

Nancy’s secret garden. It’s off Simmonton St down a little alley way. It’s like being in the jungle in the middle of Key West.

pleasant B&B in old house

Our room was very small and not too much privacy,but lovely setting and close walk to everything.Very friendly host and staff.

Located very close to main street and main attractions. Very romantic place!

Just OK. Service disappointing.

Small, quiet bed and breakfast with only a few rooms in a good location at south end of Key West. Accomodations are OK but not great. Manager is friendly and helpful. During a week long stay room was cleaned only once. Had to ask each time we wanted clean towels. Trash emptied once during our stay. Having an additional staff person would solve some of the issues we encountered. Be aware that the office is not staffed and you must make arrangements to get keys and to check in.

No pool or places to sunbathe at this hotel. However, small beach within a few blocks.

This is where we’ll stay every time!

We spent a long Labor Day weekend at Island Oasis and absolutely loved it! It is in a great location, close enough to walk to Duval St and the Southernmost point was only about 2 blocks away! Yet, far enough from the "touristy" places to be able to relax. Great service, everyone was very friendly and ready to reccommend stuff to do. It was like staying in someone’s home. We had a cottage room and will definitely go back and stay at Island Oasis! Other guests were friendly too, nice chatting with others on the front porch! Can’t wait to plan my next trip and stay at this B&B

There’s a little cuban store 1/2 block away on the corner, they have the BEST cuban sandwiches ever! I think we had cuban sandwiches 3 times over the long weekend!

It,s a perfect place if you want to stay close to the center of the town.

Nice place

Convenient location, walk to Duval St action just a few blocks. People are very nice, and the room was quiet. Our room, the "Flamingo" was barely big enough for the queen size bed, but it was big enough for our purposes. Beautiful gardens and mature plantings around the house.

Unless you have compelling health reasons not to, you should take a reef charter out and snorkel...the reefs are unbelievable, the experience is unforgettable, and it is safe for all ages. Kids as young as 4 were out there with their grandparents...it was great.

Friendly & Caring Service

The folks at this hotel really go out of their way to personalize your visit to Key West. Due to the small size (only 6 rooms) they can really give you personal attention larger hotels simply can’t provide. The rooms are small and cozy...very European size. But...you spend most of the time out and about so you’re really only there to sleep so don’t let the small rooms detour you. This is NOT "party central" so it’s nice and quiet for couples who just want to get away.

The best kept secret for dining is Cafe Sole...off the beaten and touristy path.

Nice quite and good place to stay

Is a very nice friendly familiar place to stay is like a big home, I will suggest more parking space. But is not a big issue

A/C spoiled the good impression

Would be a great place to stay, if only the A/C wasn’t so loud and just too small for a room like that. The choice between sleeping and putting the air conditioner on isn’t exactly what one would expect during a summer trip. Otherwise it would be a wonderful and cosy place, close to the "southernmost point", lighthouse and Hemingway’s house.

A lobster at Duffy’s (Truman Av./Simonton St.) is a good choice.

Awesome Honeymoon

We stayed in the Pelican Cottage which was awesome. It has a kitchenette and is very spacious. The breakfast served is incredible- delicious fresh fruit and so many other things that you won’t go hungry. Rent a scooter to get around, its not expensive and they’re very user-friendly. Kenny works in the office and is great- he set up all our excursions for us. We can’t wait to go back!

Go to the drag show at Aqua- its the best one on Duval! My husband and I had the best time, its absolutely hilarious!!

Fantastic Service!

We picked the perfect place to spend a few days away from it all! The location was great ~ close to everything but quiet. The room was very clean and comfortable, and the service was amazing! Even after seeing other accommodations during our stay, we wouldn’t choose anything but An Island Oasis for our next trip to Key West!

Be sure to rent a bike for your stay. They’re fun to ride, they easily get you anywhere on the island, and are convenient ~ there are bike racks everywhere!

We really enjoyed our stay. This place is convenient to all of the Duval street action and many other attractions. The owners/operators were eager to help us have a good visit to Key West.

Key West Bed and Breakfast

We found the Inn charming with a very at home feeling. Breakfast was adequate and a great opportunity to mingle. Housekeeping was never seen and everytime we returned to the room it was serviced. Location good for Historic area.

Good place to stay

Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. Not far from Duvall St, but far enough to be quiet when you need it.

Excellent place to stay!

I really enjoyed the three-day stay at ’An Island Oasis’ with my wife. First of all, it is a very comfortable place like our home. We could walk around the southern old town attractions and the ’Duval’ street in Key West every day and night as well as the southernmost point. The manager is very nice and kind for our visit and travel. You don’t have to worry about the ’must-do’. The manager introduces all about it. The complimentary breakfast was wonderful every morning. It is also very convenient for parking and nearby stores across the street. I would absolutely recommend to my friends to stay here. I would choice here for the next time too. You could enjoy the calm and peaceful spirit of Key West!
